Abstract

Patients who are hospitalized because of medical emergencies are at risk of clinical deterioration due to physiological changes in their bodies. Early Warning Score (EWS) is a "tool" used to detect early changes or deterioration of the patient's physiological condition. Through the use of EWS, both nurses and physicians can communicate using structured communication tools in terms of proper decision making. Nurses play an important role in identifying the physiological changes of patients through observation, assessment, and recording of vital signs during patient care. In the implementation of the Early Warning Score, documentation is required which is an authentic proof of nursing actions undertaken by nurses to the clients. The aim of this study is to find out nurses’ level of knowledge of EWS documentation in Inpatient Department and Intensive Care Unit Siloam Hospitals Labuan Bajo. The research method is a quantitative descriptive method, by using questionnaire as a research instrument. The sampling technique that is used is total sampling technique. The study was conducted in the Inpatient Department and ICU Siloam Hospitals Labuan Bajo with a sample size of 26 respondents, using questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability by researcher before. Data analysis used is univariate analysis by using computerization. The results obtained 22 people with good knowledge with the percentage of 84.6% and 4 people are enough knowledge with the percentage of 15.4% / Pasien yang dirawat di rumah sakit karena keadaan darurat medis berisiko mengalami kemunduran klinis akibat perubahan fisiologis di tubuh mereka.
