Latar Belakang : Prevalensi penderita DM meningkat tiap tahunnya di dunia dan Indonesia. Pada tahun 2017 tercatat hingga 425 juta kasus di dunia. Indonesia menjadi peringkat ke enam di dunia dengan jumlah penyandang DM 10,3 juta orang. Mahasiswa merupakan populasi berisiko terkena DM dikarenakan kurangnya pengetahuan faktor risiko DM dan dipengaruhi gaya hidup modern saat ini. Faktor risiko yang dapat menyebabkan DM yaitu kurangnya aktivitas fisik, pola makan, pola tidur, alkohol dan rokok, stres dan obesitas. Peneliti menetapkan kelompok mahasiswa sebagai responden dikarenakan mereka merupakan salah satu dari kategori usia yang berisiko terkena DM. Salah satu upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian DM yaitu dengan meningkatkan pengetahuan faktor risiko DM pada mahasiswa. Tujuan Penelitian: Mengetahui gambaran tingkat pengetahuan tentang faktor risiko DM pada mahasiswa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan di Satu Universitas Swasta. Metode Penelitian: Metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah Mahasiswa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan di satu Universitas Swasta angkatan 2018 berjumlah 283 responden dengan sampel 166 responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah quota sampling. Pengumpulan data dilaksanakan pada Januari 2020 dan data di analisa dengan teknik Univariat. Hasil Penelitian: Tingkat pengetahuan mahasiswa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan di Satu Universitas Swasta tentang faktor risiko diabetes melitus dikategorikan baik dengan total 107 (64,46 %) responden. Saran: Diharapkan peneliti selanjutnya dapat meneliti tentang sikap, perilaku, persepsi ataupun kesadaran mahasiswa terhadap penyakit DM karena penelitian ini hanya terbatas dalam membahas tingkat pengetahuan tentang faktor risiko DM saja serta jumlah sampel masih belum cukup untuk menggeneralisasi tingkat pengetahuan mahasiswa./Background: The prevalence of diabetes mellitus (DM) patients is increasing every year, both nationally and internationally. In 2017, there were up to 425 million cases in the world. Indonesia is ranked as the sixth country with the biggest number of DM patients with the number of 10.3 million patients. Students are population who have risk of developing DM due to a lack of knowledge of DM risk factors and the influence by today's modern lifestyle. Risk factors that can cause DM are lack of physical activities, diet, sleep patterns, alcohol and cigarettes, stress, and obesity. Researchers set a group of students as respondents because they are one of the age categories at risk of developing DM. One of the efforts to prevent and control DM is to increase knowledge of DM risk factors in students. Research Objectives: To describe the level of knowledge about risk factors for DM in students of the Faculty of Teacher College at One Private University. Research Methods: Descriptive quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this research are students of the Faculty of Teacher College at a private university class of 2018 with the total of 283 respondents with a sample of 166 respondents. The sampling technique is quota sampling. Data was collected from January 2021 to April 2021, and was analyzed using the Univariate technique. Research Results: The level of knowledge of the students of the Faculty of Teacher College at One Private University about the risk factors for diabetes mellitus is categorized as good with a total of 107 (64.46%) respondents. Suggestion: It is expected that further researchers can examine the attitudes, behavior, perceptions, or awareness of students toward DM because this research is only limited in discussing the level of knowledge about DM risk factors and the number of samples is still insufficient to generalize the level of student knowledge
