Abstract

Global Financial Crisis 2008 is one of the world phenomena that gives its impact to all countries in the world. This crisis has caused a decline in economic activity around the world, with no exception of Indonesia and Ireland economic activity. Ireland severed pretty bad from this crisis. Before this crisis happened, Ireland only focused on their trade with their traditional markets. But after the crisis hits them, they begin to realize the importance of doing trade with their non-traditional markets. On the other side, Indonesia who has learned form the crisis that hits them in 1998, was not affected too seriously from the financial crisis in 2008. Ireland then decided to spread their markets to ASEAN region, especially to Indonesia due to the high level of gross domestic product (GDP) that Indonesia has. Indonesia openly accepted Ireland to develop economic relations between the two countries even more especially because of Indonesia and Ireland has had diplomatic relations since 1984. This research is using qualitative method to describe the impact of IndonesiaIreland economic relations after Global Financial Crisis 2008 to both countries economy. Data provided in this research gained from primary data through interview and from secondary data through literature study. In addition, analysis technique that used to analyze data in this research is explanative technique. Unfortunately, the development of economic relations between Indonesia and Ireland after the global financial crisis 2008 did not grow high enough until 2016. This conclusion shows that Indonesia and Ireland economic relations after the global financial crisis 2008 is not giving a significant impact on Indonesia and Ireland economy. But, both countries agree that Indonesia and Ireland relationship is heading to a positive direction and both countries also hoping that the economic relations between them could increase in the future./ Krisis Finansial Global 2008 merupakan salah satu fenomena ekonomi dunia yang cukup besar dan memberikan dampak kepada semua negara.
