Abstract
unconfined compression menunjukkan perbaikan nilai kuat geser undrained tanah
penambahan abu marmer sebanyak 6%. /
Soil is very important in world construction project because the soil is a support for
whatever is built on it, then the soil must be in good condition so that the structure
on it remains intact for a period of time as long as possible. Some clays have a low
bearing capacity, so it needs to be stabilized to improve the bearing capacity. One
of the methods of improvement in soils with poor conditions is to carry out soil
stabilization. The first thing before carrying out soil stabilization is to understand
the type of soil because each type of soil has different characteristics when
stabilized. The biggest factor in soil stabilization is the plasticity and bearing
capacity of the soil which can be known from the shear strength. The soil plasticity
index can be obtained by carrying out the Atterberg test, while the shear strength of
undrained clay soils is obtained from the results of the unconfined compression test.
Based on the results of the sieve analysis and the Atterberg test refers to the
AASHTO classification method, the type of soil tested was clay group A-7-6.
Marble dust was added to the soil as a stabilizer to improve the bearing capacity of
the soil. The marble dust content added in this research was 0%, 3%, 6%, 9%, and
12% from the soil’s dry weight. Results from the unconfined compression test
which made highest bearing capacity increase was obtained by 6% marble dust with
a maximum ripening of 7 days.
