Abstract
In the world of education, learning activities are a must for everyone. Learning activities can be done if individuals have the motivation to learn. The results of the initial interviews showed that some students experienced a decrease in motivation to study after attending several semesters. Learning motivation itself is related to various factors such as conformity and academic stress. This research aims to know the relationship of conformity and academic stress with learning motivation in Surabaya. Quantitative research was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 70 students using Purposive Sampling technique. The measuring instruments used in this research are the scale of conformity, academic stress, and learning motivation. Data analysis is performed using the correlation test Spearman Rho. The results showed that there was a significant link between the conformities and the motivation to learn with R = 0,312 and significance of P = 0,008. The higher the level of students conformities, the higher the motivation level of learning students. The results of the study also showed no significant link between academic stress and the motivation to learn with R = 0,056 and significance of P = 0,643. Because the second hypothesis is not proven, high academic stress does not necessarily make motivation of the students become low. Students need to maintain a high motivation for learning through group discussions or to apply interesting learning strategies to avoid the of academic stress
