Abstract
Dewasa ini, industri kuliner yang berkembang dengan pesat di Indonesia membuat roti bakar perlahan-lahan mengalami perkembangan, mulai dari kualitas roti, varian rasa, hingga inovasi untuk menarik perhatian konsumen. Roti Bakar 88 merupakan sebuah waralaba restoran yang didirikan oleh Irwan Tanusolihin pada tahun 2005 di Pasar Lama Tangerang yang menyajikan roti bakar sebagai menu utamanya. Keunikan dari Roti Bakar 88 terletak pada roti tawar home-made yang dibuat menggunakan resep rahasia keluarga yang otentik. Berdasarkan analisis data hasil studi pustaka dan wawancara, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa Roti Bakar 88 belum memenuhi identitas visual yang baik menurut Landa, tidak memiliki sistem identitas visual yang koheren dan konsisten, serta kurang mencerminkan visi dan misi dari restoran tersebut. Oleh karena itu, proyek akhir ini bertujuan untuk melakukan perancangan ulang identitas visual Roti Bakar 88 agar lebih relevan dan dapat merepresentasikan karakter dan citra yang telah dibangun, serta penerapan sistem aplikasi identitas visual yang lebih konsisten. Perancangan ini dilakukan menggunakan metodologi design thinking Ambrose-Harris, yang dimulai dengan membuat creative brief untuk memahami permasalahan, melakukan riset dan menganalisis data, menggagas dan menentukan solusi desain terbaik, hingga mengembangkan solusi desain agar siap diproduksi dan disebarkan kepada publik. Perancangan ini diharapkan dapat menyelesaikan permasalahan-permasalahan visual dari brand Roti Bakar 88./Nowadays, culinary industry is growing rapidly in Indonesia, and toast is no exception, experiencing development in its qualities, flavor varieties, to innovations to attract consumers. Roti Bakar 88 is a restaurant franchise founded by Irwan Tanusolihin in 2005 located in Pasar Lama Tangerang that serves toast as its main dish. The uniqueness of Roti Bakar 88 lies in the home-made bread made using authentic family secret recipes. Based on data analysis from literature studies and interviews, the author conclude that Roti Bakar 88 doesn’t fulfill a good visual identity requirement according to Landa, doesn’t have a coherent and consistent visual identity system, and doesn’t reflect the restaurant’s vision and mission. Therefore, this final project aims to redesign Roti Bakar 88’s visual identity to make it more relevant and can represent its characters and images, also can implement a more consistent identity system. This design was undertaken using Ambrose-Harris’ design thinking methodology, which began with creating a creative brief to understand the problem, conducting research and data analysis, initiating and determining the best design solution, lastly developing a design solution until it’s ready to be produced and published. Hopefully, this design can solve the visual problems faced by Roti Bakar 88.
