Abstract

In this modern course of life, information systems have become a necessity that help people to facilitate the processes of their work. Lembaga Penjamin dan Pengembangan Mutu Pendidikan (LP2MP) is a department in Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) that is responsible for controlling and maintaining the quality of education in the university. The tasks include recording and saving data such as research materials, publications, community service, and student activities in the campus. At the time, LP2MP still uses Microsoft Excel as a software to collect the data for each activity without the help of an integrated application to carry out the tasks. Therefore, LP2MP required the implementation of information systems to manage the recoding of data for each accomplished activity made by both students and lecturers. The research paper emphasizes the development of the system that used Prototyping as the method. The system was designed with CodeIgniter framework and used Hypertext Preprocessor as the programming language. The system was modeled with Unified Modeling Language diagrams such as class diagram, use case diagram, and a set of activity diagrams. The result of this research constructs a database and a web-based application to manage the recording of lecturer-and-student activities that assists LP2MP in storing data, managing data master and to generate a data report based on the requirements of LP2MP./ Universitas Pelita Harapan memiliki divisi yang berfungsi untuk memperhatikan kualitas dan mutu pendidikan, yaitu divisi Lembaga Penjamin dan Pengembangan Mutu Pendidikan (LP2MP). Salah satu tugas dari LP2MP adalah dengan menyimpan data penelitian, publikasi, pengabdian masyarakat, dan kegiatan mahasiswa yang ada di UPH. LP2MP masih belum memiliki sebuah aplikasi yang dapat digunakan untuk menyimpan data dan masih menggunakan file excel untuk melakukan pendataan dari setiap kegiatan. Oleh sebab itu, LP2MP membutuhkan sistem informasi untuk mengelola dan menyimpan data dari setiap kegiatan-kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh dosen maupun mahasiswa. Penelitian ini berfokuskan pada pengembangan aplikasi pemasukan data dengan menggunakan metode Prototyping. Sistem usulan ini dikembangkan menggunakan framework CodeIgniter dengan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP. Sistem ini menggunakan pemodelan UML dengan class diagram, use case diagram dan activity diagram. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah database dan aplikasi berbasis web untuk mengelola kegiatan dosen dan mahasiswa, yang dapat membantu LP2MP dalam proses penyimpanan data, pengolahan data master, pengolahan data kegiatanmahasiswa, pengolahan data riset dosen, dan juga dapat menghasilkan laporan data yang diinginkan oleh LP2MP.
