Abstract

Flash is a complementary device for the Smartphone camera that functions as a source of light when engaging in photographing activities. But, disadvantage in using flash from smartphone camera is the source that produced light is only from one point and impact in limits the creativity of photography. Hence, to overcome this limit, three portable external flash devices were made and it could adjust the brightness level wirelessly using Android application.Each external flash device was made using three pieces of 3 watt LED that connected to Arduino UNO. In order to work wirelessly, it was pinned to Wi-Fi ESP826 module. The brightness level that produced by this device could be adjusted with the surrounding ambience light using LDR sensor. By connected with the same network using portable router, the three devices could easily set a static IP within each device. Then, it could also controlled using an Android-based smartphone. This device have some features such as adjust the brightness level manually and automatically, and activated selected device. There are three types of tests performed, the test results are seen from the intensity of the light and the resultil of histogram. First test is testing using one source of light. An external flash device paired with a 60° convex lens could produce 695 lux of light intensity but it creates shadows around the object. The second test is to test the device brightness level. The last test is to take a photograph using two light sources. It produce an image with the same distribution of lighy which could be seen in the histogram where the pixels are evenly distributed in the midtone. The fourth experiment is comparing the intensity and the results of the photos produced by using smartphone flash and external flash./ Flash merupakan perangkat pelengkap Smartphone kamera yang berfungsi sebagai sumber cahaya saat melakukan aktifitas memotret. Kelemahannya, cahaya yang dihasilkan hanya satu dari satu titik saja sehingga membatasi kreatifitas fotografi. Untuk mengatasinya, dibuatlah tiga perangkat flash ekternal yang portable dan dapat diatur tingkat kecerahan cahayanya secara wireless menggunakan Aplikasi Android. Satu perangkat flash ekternal dibuat menggunakan 3 biji LED masing masing berukuran 3-watt yang dihubungkan ke Arduino UNO. Agar dapat bekerja secara wireless, disematkan modul Wi-fi ESP826. Tingkat kecerahan yang dihasilkan oleh flash eksternal dapat diatur sesuai dengan kondisi pencahayaan sekitar menggunakan sensor LDR. Ketiga perangkat flash eksternal terhubung pada jaringan yang sama dengan menggunakan portable router agar mudah dalam menetapkan IP statik pada masing-masing perangkat. Perangkat flash eskternal dikendalikan dengan menggunakan smartphone berbasis Android. Perangkat memiliki fitur untuk mengatur tingkat kecerahan manual, tingkat kecarahan otomatis, dan perangkat mana yang akan diaktifkan.Ada empat macam pengujian yang dilakukan, hasil pengujian dilihat dari intensitas cahayanya dan histogram yang dihasilkan. Pengujian pertama yaitu pengujian dengan satu sumber cahaya. Perangkat flash eksternal yang dipasangkan lensa convex 60° dapat memberikan intensitas cahaya sebesar 695 lux namun menghasilkan bayangan yang membuat daerah disekitar objek menjadi gelap. Percobaan kedua adalah dengan menguji tingkat kecerahan dari perangkat. Perobaan ketiga adalah dengan pengambilan gambar menggunakan dua sumber cahaya. Dua sumber cahaya menghasilkan gambar dengan sebaran cahaya yang lebih merata yang dapat dilihat pada histogramnya dimana pixel merata di bagian midtone. Percobaan keempat adalah membandingkan intensitas dan hasil foto yang dihasilkan flash smartphone dan flash eksternal.
