Background : Stress is a mental and emotional disorder caused by multifactorial. Stress can be experienced by every medical student both in the pre-clinical and clinical clerkship stages. The stress prevalence in medical students is 94.52% and most (97.4%) are clinical clerkship students, while in the first year is 57.23%. Stress experienced by a person will activate sympathetic nervous system which leads to abnormal blood pressure, if it happens continuously will cause hypertension. Hypertension is one of the most common risk factors for cardiovascular disease. The prevalence of hypertension in 2010 according to the AHA is 1.39 billion people have hypertension worldwide. In Indonesia 25.8% of the total population aged ≥ 18 years have hypertension. Objective : The main purpose of this research is to find the correlation between stress and abnormal blood pressure specifically in medical students of UPH, to describe medical student’s status of stress, and also to find the prevalence of abnormal blood pressure in medical student’s of UPH. Methods : The sample of this research consisted of a total of 60 pre-clinic students and clinical clerkship at Pelita Harapan University Medical School. The research using chi-square test. Result : There is no significant correlation between stress and abnormal blood pressure. (p = 0,091) / Latar Belakang : Stres merupakan gangguan atau kekacauan mental dan emosional yang disebabkan oleh multifaktorial. Stres dapat dialami oleh setiap mahasiswa kedokteran baik pada tahapan pre-klinik ataupun kepaniteraan klinik. Didapati bahwa prevalensi stres pada mahasiswa kedokteran adalah 94,52% dan sebagian besar (97,4%) adalah mahasiswa kepaniteraan klinik, sedangkan pada tahun pertama sebesar 57,23%. Stres yang dialami seseorang mengaktivasi jalur saraf simpatetik yang akhirnya menyebabkan tekanan darah tidak normal, bila terjadi secara terus menerus dapat menyebabkan hipertensi. Hipertensi merupakan salah satu faktor risiko yang sangat umum dari penyakit kardiovaskular. Prevalensi hipertensi pada tahun 2010 menurut AHA terdapat 1,39 milyar orang memiliki hipertensi di seluruh dunia. Di Indonesia 25,8% dari total penduduk berusia ≥ 18 tahun memiliki hipertensi. Tujuan : Peneliti ingin mencari hubungan antara stress dengan tekanan darah tidak normal, untuk mengetahui status stress, serta prevalensi tekanan darah tidak normal pada mahasiswa FK UPH. Metodologi Penelitian : Sampel penelitian berjumlah total 60 orang mahasiswa pre-klinik dan kepaniteraan klinik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Penelitian menggunakan uji chi-square. Hasil : Tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara stres dengan tekanan darah tidak normal berdasarkan hasil statistik. (p = 0,091)
