Abstract

Berkembangnya teknologi dan komunikasi di abad ke 21 ini menjadi sebuah sarana yang dapat digunakan untuk hal yang positif dan juga hal yang negatif. Setelah kejadian 9 September 2001 terjadi, Amerika Serikat sangat vokal terhadap upaya dalam melawan terorisme hingga mengeluarkan kebijakan baru khusus untuk mengatasi permasalahan terorisme yang terjadi di seluruh dunia dan di Amerika Serikat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hasil dari upaya apa yang telah Amerika Serikat lakukan untuk mengatasi permasalahan jihad digital atau radikalisasi yang terjaadi secara daring. Penulis menggunakan perspektif Konstruktivisme yang dapat membantu dalam menjelaskan fenomena terorisme dan kemanan dalam negeri di Amerika Serikat. Untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian ini, metode penelitian yang penulis gunakan adalah jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui penelitian perpustakaan yang bersumber dari buku, jurnal, dokumen dan situs web yang valid. Sementara penulis menganalisis data dengan menggunakan teknik analisis kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jihad digital telah terjadi sebelum 9/11. Warga Amerika Serikat yang terpapar oleh paham radikal dapat melancarkan serangannya namun dengan intelijen dari berbagai lembaga intelijensi di Amerika Serikat jumlah serangan terorisme yang terjadi di Amerika Serikat dapat dikurangi lebih dari 50 kasus. / The development of technology and communication in the 21st century has become a tool that can be used for both positive and negative purposes. After the 9 September 2001 incident, the United States was very vocal in its efforts to fight terrorism and issued a new policy specifically to tackle the problem of terrorism that occurred throughout the world and in the United States. This study aims to look at the effects of digital jihad, and also what efforts the United States has done to overcome these problems. The author uses the perspective of constructivism that can help in explaining the phenomenon of terrorism and domestic security in the United States. To achieve the objectives of this research, the research method that the author uses is a type of descriptive research with data collection techniques through library research sourced from books, journals, documents and valid websites. While the authors analyze the data using qualitative analysis techniques. The results of the study showed that digital jihad had taken place way before 9/11. United States citizens who are exposed to radical understanding could launch the attacks, but with intelligence from various intelligence agencies in the United States the number of terrorist attacks that occurred in the United States can be reduced by more than 50 cases.
