Abstract
Sebagian besar siswa di kelas XI yang menjadi fokus penulis merupakan keturunan Tionghoa dengan status ekonomi menengah ke atas. Mayoritas profesi orang tua mereka adalah sebagai pengusaha. Dengan latar belakang demikian, kemungkinan besar ke depannya siswa akan melanjutkan studi mengenai bisnis atau bahkan melanjutkan usaha orang tuanya. Oleh sebab itu, siswa harus dapat memperkirakan segala sesuatu yang mendekati kemungkinan terburuk atau terbaik dalam pengambilan keputusan terutama dalam memperkirakan kerugian atau keuntungan berdasarkan pendekatan yang dihitung secara sistematis. Hal ini menjadi dasar bagi mereka untuk dapat mempelajari unit pembelajaran mengenai Limit Fungsi Aljabar dengan baik dan benar supaya pemahaman yang mereka miliki dapat bermanfaat dan berguna ke depannya. Melalui pembelajaran unit ini diharapkan siswa dapat menentukkan nilai dari suatu limit apabila diketahui batasannya dengan berbagai cara dengan tepat. Selain itu, siswa dapat memahami pemahaman sepanjang hayat bahwa limit berguna dalam kehidupan supaya mereka mengerti batas kecepatan maksimal ketika mereka berkendara supaya aman serta memperkirakan nilai keuntungan atau kerugian dalam bisnis. Pada pembelajaran unit ini, siswa diharapkan dapat berpikir kritis sehingga diterapkan strategi inkuiri. Selain itu, pemilihan metode drill soal juga diterapkan untuk membangun kebiasaan baik siswa dalam mengerjakan latihan soal dengan cepat dan tepat. Namun, berdasarkan hasil belajar yang diperoleh oleh setiap siswa khususnya pada pertemuan 6, hanya terdapat sebagian kecil dari mereka (5 dari 18) memperoleh nilai ≥ 73 dari asesmen sumatif yang telah dilakukan. Hal ini berarti tujuan pembelajaran belum tercapai dengan baik. Oleh karena itu, mahasiswa guru berefleksi dan menyadari bahwa masih terdapat banyak hal yang harus diperbaiki dalam penerapan strategi dan metode yang dipilih, terutama dalam memastikan pemahaman siswa dan memperhatikan tingkat kesulitan soal. Ke depannya mahasiswa guru akan lebih memahami kemampuan siswa serta memastikan keseluruhan siswa sudah memahami soal dengan tingkat kesulitan yang rendah, kemudian sedang, dan setelahnya siswa dapat mengerjakan soal dengan tingkat kesulitan yang tinggi./Most of the students in the writer's focus class are of Chinese descent with a middle to upper economic status. The majority of their parents' professions are entrepreneurs. With such backgrounds, it is highly likely that the students will pursue studies in business or even continue their parents' businesses in the future. Therefore, students should be able to anticipate various scenarios, whether best or worst-case, in decision-making, especially in estimating losses or profits based on systematically calculated approaches. This serves as the foundation for them to learn the Algebraic Function Limit unit properly so that the understanding they gain can be beneficial for their future. Through learning this unit, it is hoped that students can determine the value of a limit when its boundary is known in various accurate ways. Additionally, students can grasp the enduring understanding that limits are useful in life, such as understanding the maximum speed limit when driving for safety and estimating profits or losses in business. In this unit of study, students are expected to think critically, thus inquiry-based learning strategies are applied. Moreover, the selection of drill methods is also implemented to cultivate good habits among students in solving practice problems quickly and accurately. However, based on the learning outcomes obtained by each student, particularly in meeting 6, only a small portion of them (5 out of 18) achieved a score of ≥ 73 from the summative assessment that has been conducted. This indicates that the learning objectives have not been well achieved. Therefore, student teachers reflect and realize that there are still many aspects that need improvement in the application of chosen strategies and methods, especially in ensuring student understanding and considering the difficulty level of the problems. Moving forward, student teachers will better understand the students' abilities and ensure that all students understand problems with low difficulty levels first, then moderate difficulty levels, before progressing to high difficulty level problems.
