Abstract

Film merupakan cerminan dari realitas sosial yang kompleks, memperlihatkan dinamika kehidupan sehari-hari serta berbagai tantangan yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat. Sebagai karya seni, film tidak hanya menghibur penonton tetapi juga menyampaikan pesan-pesan mendalam mengenai isu-isu sosial yang relevan, seperti hubungan yang beracun, perjuangan mencari keadilan, dan perubahan sosial yang terjadi. Dalam konteks komunikasi interpersonal, film juga menjadi sarana untuk memperlihatkan bagaimana interaksi antara individu memengaruhi dinamika hubungan sosial, serta menyoroti pentingnya komunikasi yang efektif dalam mencegah terjadinya hubungan yang beracun. Sebuah penelitian yang dilakukan pada film "Posesif" (2017) membahas secara khusus tentang penggambaran hubungan toxic relationship dalam kerangka teori Semiotika Roland Barthes. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan analisis semiotika, peneliti menyelidiki setiap adegan dalam film untuk mengungkap tanda-tanda melalui denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos yang menggambarkan dinamika hubungan beracun antara tokoh-tokoh utama. Hasil penelitian menyoroti berbagai tanda yang menampilkan kontrol berlebihan, manipulasi emosional, dan kekerasan psikologis sebagai ciri-ciri yang tersirat dalam representasi film tersebut. Pentingnya komunikasi interpersonal yang efektif juga menjadi sorotan dalam penelitian ini. Film menunjukkan bagaimana komunikasi verbal dan nonverbal antara karakter-karakter utama mempengaruhi perkembangan hubungan mereka. Selain itu, film juga menggambarkan bagaimana ketidakmampuan untuk berkomunikasi secara jujur dan terbuka dapat mengakibatkan terjadinya toxic relationship. Komunikasi yang baik dan efektif menjadi kunci dalam membentuk hubungan yang sehat dan penuh dengan rasa hormat. Penelitian ini mendorong kesadaran akan pola perilaku beracun dalam hubungan remaja, dengan harapan agar adanya keterlibatan aktif dari pendidik, orang tua, dan pembuat kebijakan dalam mengidentifikasi serta mengatasi tanda-tanda hubungan berpacaran remaja yang mengarah pada toxic. / Films are a reflection of complex social realities, showing the dynamics of daily life and the various challenges faced by society. As works of art, films not only entertain audiences but also convey deep messages about relevant social issues, such as toxic relationships, the struggle for justice, and the social changes that are taking place. In the context of interpersonal communication, films are also a means of showing how interactions between individuals influence the dynamics of social relationships, as well as highlighting the importance of effective communication in preventing toxic relationships from occurring. A research conducted on the film "Posesif" (2017) specifically discusses the depiction of toxic relationships within the framework of Roland Barthes' semiotic theory. Using a qualitative approach and semiotic analysis, researchers investigated each scene in the film to reveal signs through denotation, connotation and myth that describe the dynamics of the toxic relationship between the main characters. The research results highlight various signs that display excessive control, emotional manipulation, and psychological violence as characteristics implicit in the film's representation. The importance of effective interpersonal communication is also highlighted in this research. The film shows how verbal and nonverbal communication between the main characters influences the development of their relationships. Apart from that, the film also depicts how the inability to communicate honestly and openly can result in a toxic relationship. Good and effective communication is the key to forming healthy and respectful relationships. This research encourages awareness of toxic behavior patterns in adolescent relationships, with the hope that there will be active involvement from educators, parents and policy makers in identifying and addressing signs that adolescent dating relationships are turning toxic.
