Abstract
The issue of waste has become a pressing global problem in recent years. Indonesia, the fourth most populous country in the world, faces serious challenges in waste management. Badung Regency, a major tourist hub for both foreign and local visitors in Bali, is the focal point of this study. Badung is not only a key tourist destination but also a significant source of revenue for Indonesia. Therefore, this research aims to examine the efforts made by the local community, government, NGOs, and local CSOs, as well as to assess the impact of these efforts in Badung after the implementation by the government, NGOs, and local CSOs. This study employs concepts derived from International Relations, specifically liberalism theory, the concept of Common Interest, and International Cooperation. A case study method is used to explore the efforts made by the government, NGOs, and local CSOs in addressing the waste problem. According to the research findings, many waste management programs have been implemented by the government and external parties. However, through interviews with residents and online research, the author found discrepancies between official data and the reality on the ground. Official data often depict the success of waste management efforts, but in reality, waste management in Badung Regency still faces many shortcomings.
