Abstract

The Rose of Sharon Church (ROSC) is one of the influential non-state actors in strengthening the Christian community network in Southeast Asia. This study aims to analyze how ROSC builds regional synergy through a community-based approach and its contribution to human development. Using a constructivist perspective, this research addresses questions about ROSC's strategies and role in creating cross-border connections and improving the quality of life in the community. The main findings reveal that ROSC utilizes a collaborative leadership structure and social programs such as education, healthcare services, and economic empowerment to bridge cultural and religious differences in the region. ROSC’s flagship programs, such as Mawar Sharon Peduli, provide scholarships, mobile clinic services, and entrepreneurship training that have successfully enhanced the capacities of individuals and communities in Southeast Asia. This study also highlights that the success of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda heavily depends on the quality of the human capital supporting it. When individuals within a community possess good character, including values such as justice, tolerance, and love, the implementation of the SDGs can be more effective. Through its network, ROSC contributes not only to spiritual aspects but also to human development, creating sustainable positive impacts in line with the principles of the SDGs.
