Abstract
The limited green open space (RTH) in Jakarta has a significant impact on the lack of safe, educational, and nature-integrated play spaces for children. In the midst of increasingly dense urban growth and the dominance of commercial spaces, children aged 6-12 years lose the opportunity to play actively and learn directly from the surrounding environment. This research aims to respond to the crisis of play spaces as well as the disconnection of children from ecological processes in the city. The main problem to be solved is how to design a play space that is not only recreational, but also able to become a medium for ecological learning through the integration of urban farming, and how architecture can facilitate children's physical activity optimally within the limitations of green land. The methods used include literature study, precedent study, site observation, and design exploration based on modular strategy, physical activity (MVPA), and regenerative approach. The exploration results show that with a scattered building typology approach, space can be activated efficiently without sacrificing green space. The design is developed through sequential zones such as selecting seeds, planting, watering, harvesting, cooking, and eating together. Each zone is designed to sharpen children's senses, trigger active movement, and facilitate interaction between generations. The conclusion is that the design of play spaces integrated with urban farming and regenerative architecture principles can be an effective solution to the lack of green open space (RTH) and limited educational space in the city. This project not only answers children's play and learning needs, but also offers an ecological and social regeneration scheme for Jakarta's urban environment.
