Abstract

Kenakalan anak dari masa ke masa sudah menjadi permasalahan, seperti anak yang tidak sopan dan tidak bertanggung jawab. Hal ini tidak bisa dihindari, karena berhubungan dengan masa pertumbuhan anak-anak. Seorang anak diketahui sering meniru perilaku dari orang tua, orang sekitar, dan media lainnya. Sehingga dengan melalui media film dapat memberikan visual, pesan dan kesan yang ingin disampaikan, tepatnya dalam kasus anak-anak, film animasi sangat efektif dalam menarik perhatian anak-anak bahkan sampai ke orang dewasa. Pemilihan studi kasus The Legend of Nezha karena mengangkat isu yang serupa, yaitu kenakalan anak, baik dalam keluarga ataupun ke masyarakat. Dalam proses perancangan suatu film animasi, dibutuhkanlah konsep visual yang melakukan eksplorasi lebih mendalam terhadap desain karakter, lingkungan, kebudayaan, adegan dan sebagainya. Tahap ini merupakan tahap yang krusial dalam pematangan basis dasar perancangan suatu film animasi. Pengumpulan data dalam karya ini menggunakan teknik kepustakaan, riset teori prinsip desain, dan observasi. Observasi dilakukan di Cina, untuk memperkuat budaya yang diangkat dalam film ini, dan sejarah Cina yang berhubungan dengan Nezha. Melalui data dan teori prinsip desain yang ditemukan kemudian diimplementasikan kedalam proses perancangan konsep visual The Legend of Nezha. Perancangan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan untuk pembuatan konsep visual yang serupa./ Childhood misbehavior is an issue which is always present in every generations, such as impolite children, and irresponsible. This issue cannot be avoided, because it is associated with the growth of children. A child often imitates their parents, other people, and other media. Hence why film can provide visuals, messages and impressions to be conveyed, especially in children, animated films are effective to attract the attention of children and even adults. The Legend of Nezha was the choice of case study because it raised a similar issue, namely misbehavior of the child, both in the family and community. In the process of designing an animated film, it takes a visual concept that explores deeper into the character designs, environments, culture, and scenes. This stage is a crucial stage in designing an animated film. The data collection uses literary techniques, theoretical design principles research, and observation. Observations were made in China, to strengthen the culture raised in this film, and the history related to Nezha. Through the data and theory, the design principles found were implemented into the process of designing the visual concept of The Legend of Nezha. This project is expected to be a reference for making related visual concepts.
