Abstract

Cigarette is one of the most common predisposition factor to diseases that could damage health and reduce the quality of life, especially to men who were the majority of smokers. One of the effects due to decrease quality of life because of smoking is decrease in lung function. Lung function can be assessed with spirometry which includes FEV1, FVC dan FEV1/FVC. The aim of this research is to know the effects of cigarettes to lung function. This research use the numerical comparative analytic study of unpaired groups of 2 or more with cross-sectional study. The data were taken consecutively according to the inclusion and exclusion factor, until the number of samples were obtained on the period of April – May 2018. Results were processed using the SPSS version 25 software. The Mann U Whitney analysis showed insignificant mean difference FEV1/FVC and FVC (p=>0.05). There is a significant mean difference of FEV1 (p=<0.05). The correlation test between FVC with age, showed insignificant correlation (p=>0.05). The correlation test between FEV1/FVC with age and FEV1 with age, showed significant correlation (p=<0.05). The correlation test between FEV1/FVC with all of the brinkman index category showed insignificant correlations (p=>0.05). There is an insignificant mean difference of the of FEV1/FVC in male smokers and non-smokers, although there is a significant mean difference of FEV1 in male smokers and non-smokers. There is an insignificant correlation of FVC with age. There are significant correlation of FEV1/FVC with age and FEV1 with age. There is an insignificant correlation of FEV1/FVC with all of the brinkman index category / Rokok merupakan salah satu predisposisi penyakit terbanyak yang dapat merusak kesehatan dan menurunkan kualitas hidup penggunanya, terlebih untuk laki-laki yang merupakan mayoritas perokok. Salah satu daripada akibat dari menurunnya kualitas hidup akibat rokok merupakan menurunnya fungsi paru. Fungsi paru dapat diukur melalui uji spirometri yang meliputi FEV1, FVC dan FEV1/FVC. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh rokok terhadap fungsi paru. Jenis penelitian ini adalah studi analitik komparatif numerik tidak berpasangan 2 kelompok atau lebih dengan desain studi penelitian potong lintang. Data diambil secara konsekutif menurut faktor inklusi dan eksklusi yang ada, hingga jumlah sampel terpenuhi dalam periode April – Mei 2018. Hasil diolah menggunakan perangkat lunak SPSS versi 25. Hasil analisa Mann U Whitney menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan rerata signifikan FEV1/FVC dan FVC pada laki-laki perokok dan tidak perokok (p=>0.05). Namun terdapat perbedaan rerata signifikan FEV1 pada laki-laki perokok dan tidak perokok (p=<0.05). Hasil uji korelasi antara FVC dengan usia menunjukkan tidak adanya hubungan signifikan (p=>0.05). Hasil uji korelasi antara FEV1/FVC dengan usia dan FEV1 dengan usia, menunjukkan ada hubungan signifikan (p=<0.05). Hasil uji korelasi antara FEV1/FVC dengan ketiga kategori indeks brinkman menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan signifikan (p=>0.05). Tidak terdapat perbedaan rerata signifikan FEV1/FVC pada laki-laki perokok dan tidak perokok dan FVC pada laki-laki perokok dan tidak perokok, namun terdapat perbedaan rerata signifikan FEV1 pada laki-laki perokok dan tidak perokok. Tidak terdapat hubungan signifikan antara FVC dengan usia, namun terdapat hubungan signifikan antara FEV1/FVC dengan usia dan FEV1 dengan usia. Tidak terdapat hubungan signifikan antara FEV1/FVC dengan ketiga kategori indeks brinkman.
