Abstract
Industri tekstil adalah industry unggulan yang diminati pasat nasional dan internasional. Peminatan yang banyak terhadap pewarna tekstil mengakibatkan pencemaran limbah tekstil terhadap lingkungan. Malachite green merupakan pewarna tekstik yang sering digunakan dalam pewarnaan di laboratorium dan insudtri ikan yang dijadikan sebagai bahan untuk membersihkan ikan dari jamur. Malachite green merupakan pewarna yang beracun, yang dapat mengakibatkan iritasi pada kulit, kanker, dan mematikan untuk hewan dan tumbuhan. Dekolorisasi dilakukan dengan bakteri Enterobacter cloacae (M8) bertujuan untuk mendekolorisasi dan detoksifikasi zat pewarna malachite green. Pengujian dengan bakteri tersebut dapat mendekolorisasi malachite green sebanyak 99,0%. Hasil percobaan dekolorisasi digunakan sebagai uji tes toksisitas dengan menggunakan Artemia salina dan Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Hasil percobaan uji toksik menunjukkan adanya penurunan toksisitas terhadap hasil dekolorisasi. Dekolorisasi memiliki korelasi dengan angka hidup dari Artemia dengan korelasi sebesar 0,813, dan lethality concentration dari malachite green sebesar 25 ppm atau rentang antara konsentrasi 0,0026% -0,02%.. Percobaan dengan menggunakan Yeast, hasil dari sampel yang telah dekolorsasi tidak menghambat pertumbuhan Yeast. / The textile industry is a leading industry in demand of national and international market. A lot of interest in textile dyes result in pollution of textile waste to the environment. Malachite green is a textile dye that is often used in dye in the laboratory and fish industry used as ingredient to clean fish from fungi. Malachite green is a toxic dye, which can cause irritation to the skin, cancer, and deadly for animals and plants. Decolorization was performed with Enterobacter cloacae (M8) bacteria aiming to decolorize and detoxify the green dye malachite. Tests with these bacteria can decolorize malachite green by 99.0%. The results of decolorization experiments were used as toxicity test test using Artemia salina and yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The result of toxic test shows that there is a decrease of toxicity to decolorization product. Decolorization has correlation with living rate of Artemia with correlation of 0.813, and lethality concentration of malachite green of 2,550 ppm or range between concentrations of 0.0026% - 0.02%. Experiment using Yeast, the product of decolorated samples did not inhibit Yeast growth.
