Today, social media is used to connect people all over the world to build communities, to express one’s thoughts, and for entertainment purposes. The growth of social media leads to the increase of user activities in social platforms. However, it is observed that some of these activities may be unproductive; spreading false news, for instance. Therefore, a social networking website with matchmaking system named NULE is designed for users to exchange knowledge with each other as a way to create a possibly more productive social platform. NULE is developed with Rapid Application Development methodology. Hypertext Preprocessor is chosen as the programming language to develop the website. The system is modeled with Unified Modeling Language 2.5 diagrams. To determine the effectiveness of the matchmaking system, an empirical study is conducted in a form of 7-day experiment that compares the results of knowledge exchange between NULE and a social networking website without matchmaking system, Facebook. 32 volunteers that participated the experiment are randomly divided into 2 equal groups, Group NULE and Group Facebook. Their task is to exchange knowledge based on the topic that they are assigned to in their respective social platform. The results are then analyzed using an independent samples t-test for hypothesis validation. Based on the results, the system is found to be effective in knowledge exchange possibly due to the matchmaking system that allows users to be matched based on location, account type, and mutual interests; where the process of knowledge exchange is made more convenient and exclusive. / Pada saat ini, media sosial digunakan untuk menghubungkan orang-orang di seluruh dunia untuk membangun komunitas, untuk mengekspresikan pikiran seseorang, dan juga untuk hiburan. Pertumbuhan media sosial mengakibatkan kegiatan pengguna di platform sosial untuk meningkat. Namun, telah diamati bahwa beberapa kegiatan ini berkemungkinan tidak produktif; menyebarkan berita palsu, sebagai contoh. Oleh karena itu, website jejaring sosial dengan sistem matchmaking (pencocokan) bernama NULE dirancang untuk bertukar pengetahuan dengan sesama pengguna sebagai salah satu cara untuk menciptakan platform sosial yang diharapkan lebih produktif. NULE dikembangkan dengan metodologi Rapid Application Development. Hypertext Preprocessor dipilih sebagai bahasa pemrograman untuk membuat website. Sistem menggunakan Unified Modeling Language 2.5 untuk permodelan sistem. Untuk mengetahui efektivitas sistem matchmaking ini, sebuah studi empiris dilakukan dalam bentuk eksperimen selama 7 hari yang membandingkan hasil pertukaran pengetahuan antara NULE dengan website jejaring sosial tanpa sistem matchmaking yaitu Facebook. 32 sukarelawan yang berpartisipasi dalam eksperimen dibagi secara acak menjadi 2 grup, Grup NULE dan Grup Facebook. Para sukarelawan ditugaskan untuk bertukar pengetahuan berdasarkan topik yang ditugaskan di platform sosial masingmasing. Hasilnya kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji-t sampel independen untuk menvalidasikan hipotesis. Hasil riset menunjukkan bahwa sistem NULE terbukti efektif dalam pertukaran pengetahuan.
