Pendidikan formal perawatan paliatif berdampak besar dalam memberikan pelayanan yang berkualitas. Dalam memberikan perawatan paliatif yang berkualitas tidak hanya diperlukan pengetahuan tetapi juga sikap positif dan interpersonal yang kompeten saat memberikan perawatan pada pasien End of Life. Fenomena yang terlihat dari data awal yang didapat menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memiliki pengetahuan baik tentang perawatan paliatif tetapi memiliki sikap yang negatif yaitu merasa tidak nyaman berbicara kematian pada pasien end of life. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pengetahuan perawatan paliatif dengan sikap mahasiswa profesi terhadap pasien End of Life. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif korelasi dengan desain cross sectional. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling. Responden adalah mahasiswa keperawatan FIKIK UPH tahun ajaran 2013/2014 yang berjumlah 51 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 61% dari total responden memiliki kategori pengetahuan kurang dan 51% responden memiliki sikap negatif. Jadi, terdapat hubungan antara pengetahuan dan sikap dalam merawat pasien End of Life (p value= 0,014). Peneliti selanjutnya disarankan untuk meneliti pengaruh pendidikan perawatan paliatif dengan sikap mahasiswa keperawatan pada pasien end of life./ Formal education of palliative care have a major impact in providing a quality service. While giving the quaility of paliative care, nurses not only posses knowledge about palliative care but must also develop the attitudes and interpersonal competence to provide compassionate care to the patient at the end of life. The phenomenon from the preliminary data obtained that the student has a good knowledge about palliative care but has a negative attitude that they feel uncomfortable talking about death with patients at end of life.The aims of this study are to determine the correlation between the knowledge of palliative care and the attitudes toward patient at the end of life. This research is a quantitative correlation with cross sectional design. Samples were taken using total sampling technique. The respondents consist of 51 nursing students who are doing profession program in Faculty of Nursing, Pelita Harapan University 2013/2014. The research found that 61% of total respondents have a deficit of knowledge category. And 51% respondents have a negative attitude when caring patient at the end of life (p value = 0,014). Researchers further are recommended to identify the influence of palliative education with nursing student’s attitude toward patien at end of life.
