Abstract

In the current competitive business situation today, motivation is considered as an important factor which drive improvement of employee performance and help in the achievement of a company’s goal.The purpose of the research is to analyze the influence of motivation towards employee performance at PT. Pioneer Glassindo Utama Medan. Motivation is an inner state that inspires actions as well as direct and channel behavior towards specific goal. Meanwhile, employees’ performance is defined the capacity of an employee to use their knowledge and skills efficiently and effectively. It is believed that performance of employees is related to their physical and academic profile. This research applied quantitative research design. The target population of PT. Pioneer Glassindo Utama Medan is 59 people that also become the sample of the test through census sampling. Questionnaires were used to collect information regarding the motivation, internal process, information and performance of PT. Pioneer Glassindo Utama Medan. The result of coefficient of determination is 0.575% which means motivation variable has influenced 57.5% to the employee performance. Linear analysis result is Y=10.591 + 0.712X.The result of hypothesis Z-Test shown that Ha is accepted means that there is an influence of motivation towards employee performance at PT. Pioneer Glassindo Utama Medan. Based on the finding, the company is recommended to do improvement in terms of involving employees in decision making process and allow employees to give feedback on the company operation. Besides, employee of the company also can be more on the punctuality in completing the job given. / Di dalam situasi bisnis yang kompetitif saat ini, motivasi dianggap sebagai sebuah faktor yang penting yang mendorong peningkatan darI kinerja pegawai dan membantu untuk mencapai sasaran perusahaan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa bagaimana pengaruh motivasi terhadap kinerja pegawai di PT. Pioneer Glassindo Utama Medan. Motivasi adalah keadaan batin yang mengilhami tindakan dan mengarahkan serta menyalurkan perilaku untuk mencapai tujuan tertentu. Sementara itu, kinerja pegawai didefinisikan sebagai kapasitas dari seorang pegawai dalam menggunakan pengetahuan dan keterampilan secara efektif dan efisien. Dipercaya bahwa kinerja seorang pegawai berkaitan dengan profil keterampilan fisik dan akadimis. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kuantitiatif. Target populasi dari PT. Pioneer Glassindo Utama Medan adalah 59 orang yang juga menjadi sampel tes melalui sensus sampling. Kuesioner digunakan untuk mengumpulkan informasi mengenai motivasi, proses internal, informasi, dan kinerja PT.Pioneer Glassindo Utama Medan. Hasil dari koefisien uji determinasi adalah 0.575% yang berarti variable motivasi memiliki pengaruh 57.5% terhadap kinerja pegawai. Hasil analisis linier adalah Y=10.591 + 0.712X. Hasil hipotesis Z-Test menunjukkan bahwa Ha diterima artinya ada pengaruh motivasi terhadap kinerja pegawai di PT.Pioneer Glassindo Utama Medan. Berdasarkan hasil temuan, perusahaan disarakan untuk melakukan peningkatan dalam hal melibatkan pegawai dalam pengambilan keputusan dan memperbolehkan pegawai untuk memberikan umpan balik dalam kegiatan operasional perusahaan. Selain itu, pegawai perusahaan juga dapat menjadi lebih tepat waktu dalam menyelesaikan tugas yang diberikan.
