Junk food is a type of food which sold in public places such as schools, street vendors, sidewalk, and other public places. Junk food have a high potency for microbial contamination due to several factors, such as non-sanitary environment, equipment, people, and others. Of the few cases that occurred in Indonesia, the largest potential for junk food outbreak occurs in children of primary school due to manyjunk foods sold in school canteens. The purpose of this research is to obtain quantitative and qualitative data of junk food in elementary Atisa Dipamkara Karawacithus helping the school canteen in the provision of hygiene education and food safety. Foods that are microbiologically tested such aschicken noodle, bakwan, banana chocolate, french fries, and burgers are sold in elementary Atisa Dipamkara Karawaci. Sample testing conducted by dilution technique, followed by plating and the results counted. Microbes tested in quantitative were Total Aerobic Microbial (APC), Escherichia coli (EC), Staphylococcus aureus (SA), Yeast and Mold (YM), while the microbes tested qualitatively wasSalmonella sp. The results show that chicken noodle had a highest number of APC (9.0 x 10 5 CFU/g), the highest EC (1.5 x 10 5 CFU/g), the 4 highest SA (1.6 x 10 CFU/g and the highest YM (2.5 x 10 3 CFU/g).Salmonella was not found in testing. Suggestions from this research is the awareness of food hygiene and food safety should be improved to ensure the feasibility of food for consumption.
