Abstract

Penggunaan tanda baca pada sebuah paragraf seharusnya sesuai dengan EYD, sehingga pembaca mampu mengerti maksud tulisan dari penulis. Akan tetapi, ketika penulis melaksanakan praktikum di kelas III sekolah ABC, siswa tidak dapat menerapkan konsep penggunaan tanda baca pada tulisan mereka sesuai dengan EYD. Berdasarkan hasil tes prasiklus yang diberikan, hasilnya adalah sebagian besar siswa tidak lulus untuk soal C3 (penggunaan). Oleh karena itu, penulis melakukan penelitian dengan tujuan meningkatkan konsep penggunaan tanda baca titik, koma, seru dan tanya. Adapun metode yang digunakan oleh penulis adalah metode permainan karena melihat kondisi kelas yang cenderung tidak tertib dan suka bosan pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, serta mempertimbangkan hasil wawancara penulis dengan mentor. Penulis menggunakan metodologi penelitian jenis Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas III di sekolah ABC yang berjumlah 34 siswa. Penulis menggunakan beberapa instrumen sebagai alat pengumpulan data, antara lain: hasil tes siswa, lembar angket siswa, observasi mentor, wawancara mentor, umpan balik mentor, dan jurnal refleksi penulis. Hasil tes siswa, lembar angket siswa, dan lembar observasi mentor dianalisa menggunakan kuantitatif sederhana, sedangkan lembar wawancara mentor, lembar tes, lembar umpan balik mentor, dan jurnal refleksi penulis dianalisa menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh adalah kemampuan menggunakan tanda baca titik, koma, seru dan tanya mengalami peningkatan di setiap siklus setelah metode permainan diterapkan di dalam kelas. Hasil ini dapat diihat dari pencapaian indikator keberhasilan, yaitu 75% pada setiap indikator untuk masing-masing variabel./In order for readers to fully comprehend certain writings, the use of punctuation mars within a paragraph must correspond to the EYD. However, at school ABC where the writer executed a practical internship, third grade students were unable to implement proper punctuation concepts in accordance to the EYD. The results of a given tes prasiklust displayed that most students did not pass the C3 questions (application). Based on this matter, a study was conducted aiming to improve the application of punctuation usage of periods, commas, exclamation points and question marks. Due to the disorderly circumstances of the class and the lack of enthusiasm during Bahasa Indonesia, as well as taking into consideration previous mentor interviews, this study was executed through a guessing game method. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) methodology). The writer utilizing various instruments as a means of data collection such as: the students’ test results, student questionnaire sheets, mentor observation, mentor interviews, mentor feedback, and journal reflection of the writer. Students’ test results, questionnaire sheets, and mentor observation sheet was analyzed using a simple quantitative method, whereas the mentor interview sheet, test sheets, mentor feedback sheet and writer’s reflection journal were analyzed using a descriptive analysis method. The results of the guessing game method study indicated an improvement in the punctuation usage of periods, commas, exclamation points and question marks after each game cycle. This is proven through the fulfilment of a 75% success indicator for each indicator and variable.
