Abstract

Pengamatan yang peneliti lakukan menunjukkan bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan memahami pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode ceramah interaktif tanpa menggunakan media. Hal tersebut disebabkan karena sebagian besar siswa memiliki gaya belajar visual, audio, dan visual-audio. Berdasarkan data gaya belajar siswa, maka peneliti memutuskan menyampaikan materi pembelajaran dengan metode ceramah interaktif yang dibantu oleh media video. Hal ini merupakan upaya yang dilakukan peneliti untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada ranah kognitif. Penggunaan media video diterapkan pada pembelajaran IPS dengan materi sumber daya alam. Peneliti mengunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis dan Taggart yang dilaksanakan di SD Swasta Kristen Kupang yang terdiri dari 28 siswa kelas IV sebagai subjek penelitian. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari tanggal 21 September – 12 Oktober 2016. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebanyak 2 siklus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar tes, observasi checklist, dan refleksi peneliti yang telah divalidasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis kualitatif deskriptif untuk menganalisis data. Hasil akhir dari penelitian ini adalah penggunaan media video pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dari 46% jumlah siswa yang lulus KKM menjadi 100% jumlah siswa yang lulus KKM di kelas IV-A Sekolah Dasar XYZ Kupang./The observation that was done by the researcher showed that the students were in difficulty to understand the lesson with interactive speech learning method without using media. That was caused by most of the students had different learning styles, which were visual, audio, and visual-auditory. Based on the data of students‟ learning styles, then the researcher decided to deliver the lesson by using interactive speech learning with video. This was an effort that the researcher did to improve the students‟ cognitive achievement. The usage of video was implemented in social subject with the topic “nature resource”. The researcher used Classroom Action Research (CAR) with Kemmis and Taggart model that was done in a Christian School in Kupang that consisted of 28 students of IV class as the subject of the research. The research was held from September 21st -October 12th, 2016. This research was conducted in 2 cycles. Data collection was done by using paper test, observation checklist, and researcher‟ reflection that were validated already. The research was done by using qualitative descriptive analysis to analyze the data. The last result from this research was the implementation of the video in social subject could improve the students‟ cognitive achievement from 46% of the total of the students pass the standard became 100% of the total of the students could pass the standard in IV-A class XYZ elementary School in Kupang.
