Abstract

Pekerjaan Rumah (PR) merupakan bagian yang tidak dapat dipisahkan dalam proses belajar di sekolah. Banyak pihak yang menganggap bahwa PR sangat dibutuhkan siswa. Dengan diberikan PR siswa memiliki waktu berlatih lebih banyak, yang sangat dibutuhkan terutama dalam pelajaran Matematika. Faktanya, pada saat ini banyak muncul kritik tentang PR yang tidak efektif. Hal tersebut mendorong penelitian ini dibuat. Penelitian ini membahas tentang bagaimana penerapan PR yang efektif dan dampak PR untuk siswa, guru, dan orang tua. Penelitian ini ingin melihat apakah PR yang diberikan guru untuk siswa usia 6-7 tahun telah sesuai dengan prinsip-prinsip PR yang efektif dan kaitannya dengan hasil belajar siswa, secara spesifik pada pelajaran Matematika. Desain penelitian yang dipakai adalah penelitian kualitatif studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dengan empat cara yaitu: observasi di dalam kelas; wawancara mendalam yang dilakukan terhadap subyek penelitian yaitu guru dan siswa sebanyak 10 orang, yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling; angket yang dibagikan kepada 30 orang tua dan siswa; serta studi dokumen terhadap nilai yang diperoleh siswa dalam pelajaran Matematika. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 2 SD Bopkri Gondolayu Yogyakarta yang berjumlah 30 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PR Matematika yang diterapkan di kelas 2 SD Bopkri Gondolayu Yogyakarta telah mendekati prinsip-prinsip pemberian PR yang efektif. PR matematika yang diberikan tesebut dapat memberikan dampak positif kepada siswa, seperti membantu pemahaman siswa terhadap materi, dan meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif Matematika./Homework is one of essential parts that cannot be separated in school’s learning process. Many people consider homework as something that is needed for students. By giving homework, students will have much time which is really important in Mathematics subject. However, in this era there are some critics about the uneffective homework. This reality encourages this research to be done. This research discusses about how the implementation of effective Homework and the impact of Homework for students, teacher and parents. This research tries to see whether homework given by the teacher to the students in the age of 6-7 years old have been in accordance with the principles of effective homework and its relation with students’ learning outcome specifically in learning Mathematics. The used design of this research is qualitative case study research. It is done with four ways: Classroom observation; deep interview that is done with the research subject which are teacher and students with total amount 10 persons, it is chosen by purposive sampling technique; questionnaire that is distributed to 30 parents and students; documentation of students’ grades in the subject of Mathematics. The subject of this research is 30 students of grade 2 SD Bopkri Gondolayu Yogyakarta. The result of this research shows that Mathematics homework that is implemented in grade 2 students in SD Bopkri Gondolayu Yogyakarta has been approaching the principles of giving effective homework. The given Mathematics homework has been giving a positive impact toward students as to help students’ understanding toward the material and increase students’ cognitive learning outcome in Mathematics.
