Abstract

Pendekatan Beyond Centers and Circle Time merupakan inovasi Montessori di bidang metode pembelajaran untuk pendidikan anak usia dini. Pendekatan BCCT adalah pendekatan penyelenggaraan PAUD yang berfokus pada anak yang dalam proses pembelajarannya berpusat di sentra main dan saat anak dalam lingkaran untuk mendukung perkembangan anak. Circle Time (saat lingkaran) adalah saat pendidik duduk bersama anak dengan posisi melingkar untuk memberikan pijakan kepada anak yang dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah bermain. Pijakan sebelum bermain ditujukan untuk memfokuskan perhatian serta membangkitkan motivasi sehingga anak siap untuk mengikuti pembelajaran. Pijakan sesudah bermain dilakukan untuk mengakhiri aktivitas pembelajaran dengan cara menyimpulkan, refleksi, umpan balik, dan tindak lanjut. Berbagai kegiatan seperti membaca puisi, bermain peran, atau bercerita dapat dilakukan dalam kegiatan Circle Time. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan subyek siswa kelas K-2. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi partisipasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumen. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah model interaktif Miles and Huberman yakni reduksi data, display data, penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Uji keabsahan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji kredibilitas. Uji kredibilitas dilakukan dengan triangulasi sumber dan member check. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan implementasi kegiatan Circle Time dilaksanakan dengan baik walaupun belum sempurna. Kegiatan Circle Time dilakukan sebelum memulai kegiatan pembelajaran. Seluruh aspek kecerdasan siswa dapat dicapai melalui rangkaian isi dan materi pembelajaran yang diberikan pada kegiatan Circle Time walaupun terdapat beberapa hambatan yang dihadapi./Beyond Centers and Circle Time approach is an innovation in the field of Montessori learning method for early childhood education. BCCT approach is the organization of early childhood education that focuses on children in the learning process centered on the center of the game and when the children in a circle to support children’s development. Circle time (current loop) is where teachers sat with children with a circular position to give a foothold to children that is perfomed before and after playing. Scaffold before the play is intended to focus attention, raise motivation so that the child is ready to participate in learning. Scaffold after the play, to end a learning activity is done by concluding, reflection, feedback, and follow-up. Various activities such as reading poetry, playing the role, or storytelling can be done in Circle Time activities. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with subject grade K-2 as the subject. Data collection techniques that were used are participatory observation, interviews, and document study. Data analysis technique used is an interactive model of Miles and Huberman namely data reduction, data display, conclusion, and verification. Validity test of the data in this study is using a test of credibility. Test is the credibility was done by source triangulation and member check. The results showed that the implementation of Circle Time activities perfomed well, although not perfect. Circle Time activities carried out before starting the learning activities. All aspects of student intelligence can be achieved through a range of content and learning materials that were given in Circle Time activities although there were some constraints.
