Abstract

Visual media through images really helps students to understand knowledge and therefore, this research uses visual learning media through a picture storybook. Through the media of pictorial storybooks, students can understand what is explained through pictures and can capture the ideas and information contained therein. Images will be a medium that can be understood and enjoyed everywhere, and images can transcend the boundaries of time and space. Therefore, picture storybooks are very important to use to clarify understanding to students. This research is a classroom action research conducted in the 4-5 years age group. The data collection process was carried out based on the results of observations and analysis of student’s achievement in the learner profile knowledgeable and creativity. This research used the Kemmis and Taggart model by planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. At the end of the research, the achievement of a learner profile knowledgeable increased at 86.8% and creativity at 87%. With illustrated storybooks, the teacher can help students to put their ideas into language because the pictures will provide very high inspiration and motivation for students to carry out the learning process./Media visual melalui gambar sangat membantu siswa untuk memahami sebuah pengetahuan. Sehingga penelitian ini menggunakan media pembelajaran visual melalui ruang lingkup berupa buku cerita bergambar. Melalui media buku cerita bergambar siswa dapat mengerti apa yang dijelaskan melalui gambar dan dapat menangkap ide dan informasi yang terkandung di dalamnya. Gambar akan menjadi media yang dapat dimengerti dan dinikmati di mana-mana serta gambar dapat mengatasi batasan ruang dan waktu. Sehingga buku cerita bergambar sangat penting digunakan dalam usaha memperjelas pengertian kepada siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan sebuah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan pada kelompok usia 4-5 tahun. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan berdasarkan hasil observasi dan hasil analisis mengenai hasil pencapaian siswa dalam profil pembelajar knowledgeable dan kreativitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan model Kemmis and Taggart dengan melakukan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Di akhir penelitian, untuk pencapaian profil pembelajar knowledgeable mengalami peningkatan pada 86.8% dan kreativitas pada 87%. Dengan buku cerita bergambar guru dapat membantu siswa untuk menuangkan gagasan-gagasannya ke dalam bentuk bahasa karena gambar akan memberikan inspirasi dan motivasi yang sangat tinggi kepada siswa untuk melakukan proses pembelajaran.
