Abstract

The research is done to PT Ahlindo Perkasa Alam, Medan, which is a manufacturing company established in 1986. PT Ahlindo Perkasa Alam, Medan has been exporting across countries, such as Japan, Korea, and China. Phenomenon in the company is the decline in employees’ performance and the increment of returned products and the decrease in sales. This research uses the theories about training and development and its impact on employees’ performance. The purpose of this research is to know whether there is an impact of training and development on employees’ performance in PT Ahlindo Perkasa Alam, Medan. Furthermore, this research will also help the other company to know and get more knowledge about this field. This research is using descriptive and causal method. In this study the population was PT Ahlindo Perkasa Alam, Medan employees, which are as many as 152 employees. As calculated by using Slovin’s formula the sample size is 110 customers. The conclusion of this study is the significant impact and positive contribution between training and development and employees’ performance. It is recommended to enhance the training and development practices by choosing suitable training and development materials; the duration and time for the training, as well as the instructors.
