Abstract

Fast food merupakan makanan siap saji yang mengandung tinggi lemak, rendah serat, tinggi garam, gula, zat aditif dan kalori tetapi rendah nutrisi, vitamin, dan mineral. Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi dan komunikasi, iklan sangat berperan untuk mempengaruhi seseorang khususnya di kalangan mahasiswa dalam menjadikan fast food sebagai pilihan untuk dikonsumsi terutama dalam berbagai promosi yang ditawarkan mulai dari paket hemat hingga murah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui gambaran persepsi dari mahasiswa UPH terkait paparan iklan fast food di televisi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dan menggunakan instrumen penelitian kuesioner dengan populasi mahasiswa Universitas Pelita Harapan angkatan 2018 berjumlah 2.905 mahasiswa dan responden yang berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 169 responden. Kriteria inklusi penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa aktif UPH yang berusia 18-25 tahun. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Januari-Maret 2021. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan pada 169 responden, didapatkan sebanyak 91 responden (53,8%) memiliki persepsi positif mengenai iklan fast food di televisi. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah mayoritas persepsi mahasiswa terkait iklan fast food di televisi berada pada persepsi yang positif. Peneliti mengharapkan agar mahasiswa lebih bijak dalam mempersepsikan iklan fast food ditelevisi./Fast food is a ready meal that contains high fat, low fiber, high in salt, sugar, additives and calories but low in nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. Along with the development of technology and communication, advertising plays a role to influence someone especially among students in making fast food as an option to be consumed, especially in various promotions offered ranging from budget packages to cheap. The purpose of this study is to know the perception picture of UPH students related to exposure to fast food ads on television. This study used a descriptive quantitative research method and used questionnaire research instruments with the student population of Universitas Pelita Harapan class of 2018 amounting to 2,905 students and respondents who participated in this study as many as 169 respondents. The criteria for inclusion of this study are UPH active students aged 18-25 years. The research was conducted in January-March 2021. The results of the study conducted on 169 respondents, obtained as many as 91 respondents (53.8%) have a positive perception of fast food advertising on television. The conclusion of this study is that the majority of students' perceptions related to fast food advertising on television are at a positive perception. Researchers expect students to be wiser in perceiving fast food ads on television.
