Abstract

Nowadays, work-life balance is very important and necessary for work, it is said that work-life balance can influence the employees’ job satisfaction. During the preliminary interview to the employees of Restaurant Wisma Benteng Medan said there is an issue about work-life balance towards their job satisfaction. According to (Tanuputri et al., 2019), there is a significant influence of work-life balance towards employees’ job satisfaction. There are indicators used for work-life balance in this research which are time balance, involvement balance and satisfaction balance while for employees’ job satisfaction, there are psychological, social, physical and financial. This research is quantitative and causal research, involving 60 employees of the restaurant as the respondent. The sampling technique used is census sampling. Restaurant Wisma Benteng Medan is a famous Chinese Seafood restaurant with 60 employees. Based on validity and reliability test, the questions for variable X are all accepted but for variable Y there is one questions are not accepted. Through classical assumption test, it is concluded that the data is normally distributed and is linear, there is no heteroscedasticity and the alternative hypothesis is accepted which means that there is an influence of work-life balance towards employees’ job satisfaction in the restaurant./ Sekarang ini keseimbangan kerja-kehidupan sangatlah penting dan diperlukan dalam bekerja, juga dikatakan bahwa keseimbangan kerja-kehidupan bisa mempengaruhi kepuasaan kerja karyawan. Berdasarkan wawancara pendahuluan terhadap karyawan di Restoran Wisma Benteng medan dikatakan terdapat isu mengenai keseimbangan kerja-kehidupan terhadap kepuasaan kerja karyawan. Berdasarkan (Tanuputri et al., 2019), terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari keseimbang kerja-kehidupan terhadap kepuasan kerja karyawan. Dalam penelitian ini, terdapat beberapa indikator yang digunakan untuk keseimbangan kerja-kehidupan yaitu keseimbangan waktu, keseimbangan keterlibatan dan keseimbangan kepuasan dan indikator untuk kepuasan kerja karyawan terdapat psikologi, sosial, fisik dan finansial. Penelitian ini bersifat kuantitatif dan kausal, melibatkan 60 karyawan dari restoran sebagai koresponden. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah sensus sampling. Restoran Wisma Benteng Medan adalah restoran Seafood Cina yang terkenal dengan 60 orang karyawan yang bekerja. Berdasarkan uji validitas dan reabilitas, semua pertanyaan dari variable X diterima akan tertapi terdapat satu pertanyaan dari variable Y yang ditolak. Melalui uji asumsi klasik, bisa disimpulkan bahwa data didistribusikan secara normal dan bersifat linear, tidak terjadi heteroskedastisitas and hipotesis alternatif diterima membuktikan bahwa adanya pengaruh keseimbangan kerja-kehidupan terhadap kepuasan kerja karyawan.
