Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi yang sangat pesat juga akan berpengaruh pada dunia pendidikan terutama pada gaya belajar siswa. Kini para pelajar khususnya di kota-kota besar sudah hidup dengan gadgetnya, sehingga apabila kegiatan belajar diintegrasikan dengan sesuatu yang sangat dekat dan sangat disukai oleh para pelajar misalnya smartphone diharapkan dapat lebih memotivasi para pelajar untuk belajar dan menjadi lebih baik. Tentunya pendapat tersebut perlu dibuktikan dengan kegiatan penelitian agar diperoleh jawaban yang akurat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan motivasi belajar siswa yang menggunakan aplikasi Google Classroom dan yang tidak menggunakan aplikasi Google Classroom, serta untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan aplikasi Google Classroom dan yang tidak menggunakan aplikasi Google Classroom. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI MIA di SMAN 1 Cikarang Utara Bekasi. Sampel yang diambil sebanyak 71 siswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes tertulis dan skala motivasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji t yang didahului dengan uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan motivasi belajar antara siswa yang menggunakan aplikasi Google Classroom dengan siswa yang tidak menggunakan aplikasi Google Classroom, dan tidak terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang menggunakan aplikasi Google Classroom dengan siswa yang tidak menggunakan aplikasi Google Classroom./The very rapid development of technology has been affecting the education sector, especially in terms of students’ learning styles. These days, the majority of students who live in big cities are inseparable from their gadgets. Therefore, when learning activities are integrated with something very close to and embraced by learners, smartphones for example, it is expected that they will be more motivated and acquire better learning outcomes. Surely, this presumption needs to be proven by research activities in order to obtain accurate answers. This study aims to determine whether or not there are differences in the learning motivation of students who use an online learning application (Google Classroom) and those who do not use it and to determine whether or not there are differences in terms of student achievement between those who use Google Classroom and those who do not. This research utilized a quantitative research design with a quasi-experimental design. The population in this study were students of class XI at SMAN 1 Cikarang Utara Bekasi with a total number of samples of 71 students. The research instruments used were a written test and motivation scale. As for the data analysis technique, the t test which was preceded by a normality test and a homogeneity test were performed. The results of this study indicated that there is a difference in learning motivation between students who use Google Classroom and students who do not use the application. Meanwhile, there is no difference in terms of student achievement between those who use Google Classroom and those who do not use the application.
