Abstract

Berdasarkan observasi pengajaran yang dilakukan penulis pada kelas XI di salah satu SMA Kristen Kupang, diperoleh permasalahan mengenai kurangnya minat belajar Fisika siswa. Hal ini karena Fisika dianggap sulit dan membosankan serta guru hanya mengajarkan rumus tanpa mengajarkan relevansinya. Tujuan penulisan paper ini adalah mengkaji bagaimana model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dapat mengupayakan minat belajar Fisika siswa. Metode penelitian yang dipakai adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Ditemukan bahwa Model pembelajaran berbasis masalah terbukti dapat mengupayakan minat belajar Fisika siswa. PBM dapat mengupayakan minat belajar siswa dengan penyajian masalah yang menarik dan dekat dengan siswa serta tahapannya yang memberi kesempatan bagi siswa untuk terlibat selama pembelajaran untuk membangun pengetahuannya. Minat mengarah kepada kesukaan seseorang. Manusia diharapkan memiliki kesukaan terhadap kebenaran Allah sebagai sarana mengenal dirinya. Salah satu cara Allah menyatakan diri adalah melalui wahyu umum di mana fenomena alam menceritakan kemuliaan-Nya. Melalui Fisika, siswa dapat mempelajari hukum tentang keteraturan Allah sebagai sarana mengenal Allah. PBM mencoba membantu siswa belajar Fisika dengan mempelajari keteraturan tersebut dan menyajikannya dalam bentuk permasalahan. Penelitian selanjutnya disarankan dapat mengkaji secara kuantitatif keberhasilan PBM dalam mengupayakan minat belajar Fisika terutama pada materi Fisika yang sangat abstrak seperti Fisika Kuantum dan Fisika Inti./Based on teaching observations done in grade XI from one of the Christian schools in Kupang, there was a problem about the lack of student’s interest in learning Physics. That is because physics is considered difficult and boring and teachers are only taught about the formulas without the relevance of the theories with life. The purpose of this paper to examine how problem-based learning models can pursue students' interests in learning Physics. The research method used is qualitative descriptive. It was found that the problem-based learning model is proofed, able to pursue students' interests in learning Physics. PBM is able to be used to pursue student learning interests by presenting problems that are interesting and related to students and the stages of PBM provide opportunities for students to engage during learning to build their knowledge. Interest leads to someone's liking. Man is expected to have a fondness for God's truth as a means of knowing himself. One of the ways God reveals himself is through general revelation in which natural phenomeons that glorifying God. Through Physics, students are able to learn about the law of God's order as a means of knowing God. PBM tries to help students learn 2 Physics by studying the regularity and presenting it in the form of problems. Further research is suggested to conduct a further research using a quantitative method to examine the success of PBM in pursuing interest in studying Physics, especially in highly abstract Physics materials such as Quantum Physics and Core Physics.
