Abstract

Motivation is a problem that has long colored the world of education but still significant to continue to be studied, even in the 21st century. Students’ misbehavior or unmotivated feeling in learning is still found. The presence of gadgets is also a kind of temptation that is very influential for students to leave the lesson to gain pleasure for a moment. However, gadgets can now serve as part of learning in the classroom. This study aims to analyze the influence of motivation and implementation of Bring Your Own Device to 21st century competence that is creative thinking, decision making and problem solving. In this study, the questionaires are given to the population of grades VII and VIII of SMP Saint John’s Meruya, West Jakarta. The method of this study is SEM (Structural Equation Model) method which the data that is gained from the questionaires, being processed using SmartPLS 3. The results of this study indicate that motivation has a positive effect on creative thinking, decision making and problem solving on research subjects. Implementation of BYOD also shows a positive influence on the motivation and competence of creative thinking, decision making and problem solving on research subject. / Motivasi belajar merupakan persoalan yang sudah lama mewarnai dunia pendidikan namun tetap menjadi penting untuk terus dikaji, bahkan di abad 21 ini. Masih saja ditemukan permasalahan perilaku siswa yang kurang atau tidak termotivasi dalam belajar. Kehadiran gadget juga menjadi semacam pencobaan yang sangat berarti bagi siswa untuk meninggalkan pelajarannya demi memperoleh kesenangan sesaat. Namun, gadget kini dapat dijadikan sebagai bagian dalam pembelajaran di dalam kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kemampuan mengimplementasikan Bring Your Own Device dan motivasi belajar terhadap kompetensi abad 21 yaitu berpikir kreatif, pengambilan keputusan dan pemecahan masalah. Di dalam penelitian ini disebarkan kuesioner kepada populasi siswa kelas VII dan VIII SMP Saint John’s Meruya, Jakarta Barat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode SEM (Structural Equation Model) yang mana data yang diperoleh dari kuesioner diolah dengan menggunakan SmartPLS 3. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar berpengaruh positif terhadap berpikir kreatif, pengambilan keputusan dan pemecahan masalah pada subyek penelitian. Kemampuan mengimplementasikan BYOD juga menunjukkan pengaruh yang positif terhadap motivasi belajar dan kompetensi berpikir kreatif, pengambilan keputusan dan pemecahan masalah pada subyek penelitian.
