Abstract

Geografi merupakan pelajaran yang sangat erat dengan kehidupan manusia sehari-hari karena berkaitan dengan hubungan manusia dengan sesama, dengan lingkungan, bahkan dengan Allah sang pencipta. Pembelajaran geografi membutuhkan partisipasi siswa untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajarannya. Partisipasi siswa merupakan bentuk keterlibatan mereka di dalam kelas dengan menggunakan aspek mental dan emosionalnya untuk mengambil peran atau bagian di dalam kelas. Partisipasi di dalam kelas akan lebih baik jika siswa mampu menyadari kehadiran dan keterlibatannya di dalam kelas dalam setiap mata pelajaran, khususnya mata pelajaran geografi. Berdasarkan data di lapangan, penulis mengamati bahwa faktanya masih banyak ditemukan siswa yang tidak berpartisipasi dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Melalui pengamatan ini, metode penelitian yang penulis gunakan yakni kualitatif deskriptif. Tujuan penelitian yakni untuk mengkaji hasil penerapan model pembelajaran think-pair-share untuk membentuk sikap partisipasi siswa. Secara keseluruhan, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran think-pair-share dapat membentuk partisipasi siswa di kelas. Maka dengan demikian, meskipun melalui penelitian ini berhasil, penulis tetap memberikan saran agar model think-pair-share ini dapat dikuasai dan diterapkan dengan baik sesuai dengan langkah-langkahnya sehingga mendorong partisipasi siswa di dalam kelas./ Geography is a lesson that is very closely related to human daily life which involves relationship of human with others, the environment, and even with God as their creator. It is necessary to have student participate in Geography to achieve its learning objectives. Student participation is a form of their involvement mentally and emotionally to take part in each subject. Participation in the classroom will be better if the students are aware of their presence and involvement in the classroom in each subject, in particular the subject of geography. Based on the data from the field, the author observed that there were many students who did not participate during learning activities. The author applies descriptive qualitative as the research method for this observation. Christian teachers as God's co-workers in carrying out God's mission through education are called to bring a change of character to each student to be able to be aware of their participation in the classroom as a shalom bearer and become Christ-like through the Think-Pair-Share method. Overall, the results of this study shows that the application of the think-pair-share learning model can increase student participation in the classroom. Thus, even though this research is successful, the author gives suggestions for this think-pair-share model can be mastered and applied properly according to its procedure to encourage student participation in the classroom.
