Abstract

During the teaching experience, the writer utilized PowerPoint to attract the 1st graders’ attention during the set induction phase. And yet, the students did not pay attention to the writer. Therefore, the writer conducted this paper to explain how to attract 1st graders attention during the set induction phase by utilizing PowerPoint. Jesus Christ is God, but He humble Himself in His incarnation so that man can know and obey God. Therefore, Christian teachers should humble themselves by understanding the needs of the students by being savvy in technology and utilized it. In this paper, it is concluded that the 1st grade teachers can design the PowerPoint by utilizing the relevant and appropriate images as well as the colors, teachers also should put maximum 6 sentences in a slide. The writer recommends the 1st grade teachers to utilize PowerPoint in order to attract students’ attention during the set induction phase by designing the interesting slides that appropriate with 1st graders’ learning characteristics. The writer also recommends the next researchers to find how to attract 1st graders’ attention by using other technology in the classroom that can be appropriate to all students’ learning style.
