Abstract

Keterampilan motorik halus merupakan salah satu ranah yang perlu dilatih sejak usia dini. Menggunting merupakan kegiatan melatih motorik halus. Anak usia dini berada di tahap pra-operasional yang memiliki karakteristik meniru. Berdasarkan hasil observasi di salah satu sekolah taman kanak-kanak kelompok A keterampilan menggunting murid masih kurang. Metode demonstrasi dapat menyajikan pembelajaran secara konkret melalui peragaan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menggunting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mengetahui penerapan metode demonstrasi untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menggunting di taman kanak-kanak kelompok A, serta 2) mengetahui langkah-langkah penerapan metode demonstrasi yang dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menggunting. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian melibatkan 17 murid. Penelitian dilaksanakan tanggal 11 Oktober 2018 dan 16 Oktober 2018. Sumber data yang digunakan yaitu rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran, umpan balik mentor, lembar observasi checklist, lembar kerja murid serta jurnal refleksi. Indikator keterampilan menggunting yang diteliti ada dua yaitu murid menggunakan gunting dengan posisi yang benar dan murid menggunting sesuai pola. Indikator langkah-langkah metode demonstrasi yaitu 1) guru menyiapkan alat dan bahan, 2) guru menjelaskan tujuan dan teknik demonstrasi, 3) guru mendemonstrasikan proses, 4) tanya jawab, 5) murid melakukan kembali demonstrasi, 6) guru dan murid menyimpulkan pembelajaran. Berdasarkan analisis data, persentase kelulusan indikator 1 sebesar 70,58% pada penerapan pertama dan meningkat menjadi 93,75% pada penerapan kedua. Persentase kelulusan indikator 2 sebesar 35,7% pada penerapan pertama dan meningkat menjadi 68,75% pada penerapan kedua. Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode demonstrasi dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menggunting di taman kanak-kanak kelompok A melalui penerapan langkah-langkah demonstrasi./ Fine motor skills are one of the domains that must be trained since children's early stage. Cutting is an activity that trains kids fine motor skills. Early childhood is in the pre-operational stage which one of the characteristics is imitation. Based on the observation results in a kindergarten class, the students lack in cutting skills. Therefore, Demonstration method is chosen to improve Students' cutting skills because students need a concrete learning by giving example. The purpose of this research are to know whether the implementation of demonstration method can improve students' cutting skills at kindergarten and how the implementation of steps demonstration method improve students' cutting skills. The research method used is classroom action research while the research subjects are 17 kindergarten students. This research was conducted in October 11, 2018 and October 16, 2018. The research instruments are lesson plans, mentor’s feedback, checklist observation sheets, students' worksheets and journal reflections. The indicators of cutting skills consist of two; using scissors with right position and cutting based on the pattern. The steps' indicators of demonstration method are 1) preparing the tools and materials, 2) explaining the goals and demonstration techniques, 3) demonstrating the process, 4) question and answer, 5) imitating the demonstration, 6) concluding the learning. Based on data analysis, indicator 1 showed 70,58% as the passing grade on first implementation and increase to 93,75% on the second implementation. For the indicator 2 showed 35,7 % as passing grade on the first implementation and increase to 68,75% on the second implementation. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that the implementation of demonstration method can improve students' cutting skills at kindergarten by implement the steps of demonstration method.
