Abstract

Anak usia dini adalah usia yang sangat baik untuk mengembangkan keterampilan motorik halus. Pengembangan keterampilan motorik halus anak usia dini dapat dilakukan dalam kegiatan menggunting. Namun, berdasarkan identifikasi masalah ditemukan bahwa murid TK B belum mampu mengikuti langkah-langkah kegiatan menggunting. Peneliti memutuskan untuk menggunakan metode drill untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Metode drill dapat memberikan melalui latihan terus-menerus untuk meningkatkan keterampilan momtorik halus dalam kegiatan menggunting murid TK B di salah satu sekolah Kristen di Labuan Bajo. Tujuan dari penelitian ini pertama untuk mengetahui apakah metode drill dapat meningkatkan keterampilan motorik halus dalam kegiatan menggunting, kedua bagaimana langkah-langkah penerapan metode drill dapat meningkatkan keterampilan motorik halus dalam kegitan menggunting. Metode penelitian tindakan kelas yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah model Robet P. Pelton dalam dua kali penerapan. PTK model Robet P. Pelton memiliki lima tahapan, yaitu identifikasi masalah, pengumpulan data, perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan tindakan, dan hasil penilaian. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 15 Oktober 2018 sampai 25 Oktober 2018. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 26 murid kelas TK B di salah satu sekolah Kristen di Labuan Bajo. Instrumen yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah RPP, umpan balik mentor, jurnal refleksi, ceklis, dan hasil karya murid. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode drill dapat meningkatkan keterampilan motorik halus. Pada penerapan pertama persentase hasil karya murid yang mencapai indikator keterampilan motorik halus adalah 52% dan pada penerapan kedua hasil karya murid yang mencapai indikator keterampilan motorik halus adalah 84%. Langkah-langkah metode drill yang dapat meningkatkan keterampilan motorik halus ada tujuh langkah yaitu 1) guru menentukan/memberitahukan kegiatan murid, 2) guru memberikan tujuan dari kegiatan menggunting, 3) guru telah mendiagnosis kemampuan murid, 4) guru harus memastikan murid melakukan latihan dengan benar dan baik, 5) guru memberikan waktu untuk menggunting, 6) guru memberikan instruksi untuk murid, 7) guru memperhatikan karakteristik/keunikan murid. Berdasarkan penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode drill dapat meningkatkan keterampilan motorik halus menggunting murid TK B di salah satu sekolah Kristen di Labuan Bajo dengan penerapan langkah-langkah drill./ Early childhood is the best age for developing fine motor skills. The development of fine motor skills in early childhood can be done in cutting activities. However, based on issue identification, it was found that K3 students had not been able to follow the steps of cutting activity. The researcher decided to use the drill method to overcome this problem. The drill method can be given through continuous training to improve fine motor skill in cutting activity of K3 students at one of the Christian schools in Labuan Bajo. The purpose of this research are: first, to find out whether the drill method can improve fine motor skills in cutting activities and second, how does the steps of drill method implmentation can improve fine motor skills in cutting activities. The classroom action research (CAR) method that was used by researchers was Robert P. Pelton model in two implementation. CAR model by Robet P. Pelton has five stages, namely issue identification, data collection, action planning, plan activation, and outcome assessment. The research was conducted on October 15, 2018 to October 25, 2018. The subjects in this research were 26 students of K3 at one of Christian schools in Labuan Bajo. The instruments that was used by researchers were lesson plans, mentor feedback, reflection journal, checklist, and student’s works. The results showed that the application of drill method can improve fine motor skills. In the first implementation, the percentage of students' work that achieved the indicators of fine motor skills was 52% and in the second implementation, the percentange of students’ work that achieved the indicators of fine motor skills was 84%. There are seven steps of the drill method that can improve fine motor skills. They are: 1) the teacher determines / tells student activities, 2) the teacher deliverss the goal of cutting activities, 3) the teacher has diagnosed the ability of students, 4) the teacher must make sure that the students do the exercises with correctly and properly, 5) the teacher gives time to cut, 6) the teacher gives instructions to students, 7) the teacher pays attention to the characteristics / uniqueness of the student. Based on this study, it was concluded that the implemenation of the drill method could improve K3 students’ fine motor skills in cutting activity at one of Christian schools in Labuan Bajo by applying the steps of drill method.
