Abstract

Menggambar adalah aktifitas menyenangkan untuk anak-anak, juga merupakan sarana melatih kreativitas dan imajinasi anak-anak. Namun pada kenyataannya seluruh siswa (26 siswa) kelas VI Sekolah Dasar Kristen di Tangerang pada mata pelajaran kesenian mengalami hambatan dalam menggambar yang terlihat dari tidak adanya siswa yang tuntas KKM, seperti kesulitan membuat gambar mata, hidung, telinga, dan lainnya. Oleh karena itu, peneliti menerapkan metode Grid untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menggambar wajah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas versi Pelton pada tanggal 31 Juli -14 Agustus 2018, dengan melakukan lima tahap penelitian yaitu identifikasi masalah, pengumpulan data, perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan tindakan, dan penilaian. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 26 siswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa RPP, umpan balik mentor, jurnal refleksi, wawancara mentor dan siswa, dan hasil kerja siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode Grid mampu meningkatkan kemampuan siswa kelas VI Sekolah Dasar Kristen di Tangerang dalam menggambar wajah. Nilai rata-rata menggambar meningkat 19,6 poin dari nilai 59,6 pada penerapan I menjadi 79,2 pada penerapan II, serta jumlah siswa tuntas KKM dari 46,1% (12 siswa) pada penerapan I menjadi 92,3% (24 siswa) pada penerapan II. Peningkatan ini disebabkan oleh penekanan ulang pada prosedur pembuatan dan langkah penggunaan metode Grid dalam menggambar wajah./ Art is a human’s way to express what is seen and felt through media. Drawing itself is included at the most popular and most sought part in fine art. Drawing is the way how human imitate an object in two dimentional sketch form. Drawing activities are not only in demand by adults but closely related to the children’s scope area. Drawing is not only a fun activity for children, but also a means to train children's creativity and imagination. In reality, the activities that should be loved by VI graders at one of the Christian Elementary Schools in Tangerang on art subjects were hampered due to the students' low drawing ability, especially when drawing faces that have to be matched with the example or references. Therefore, researchers apply Grid technique to improve the ability of students to draw. This research method uses the Robert P. Pelton’s Class Action Research (CAR) version , it was held on July 31, 2018 until August 14, 2018 by implementing five stages of research, which are problem identification, data collection, action planning, action implementation, and outcome evaluation. The subjects of this research consisted of 26 students at one of the Christian Elementary Schools located in Tangerang, Banten. The research instruments are lesson plan and mentor’s feedback, reflection journals, mentor and student interviews, and students’ work. The results of this research shows that the application of Grid technique is able to improve the ability of VI students at one of the Christian elementary schools in Tangerang on art subjects. The general improvement can be seen in class average score and students completing minimum criteria on each application. This improvement occurs due to a re-emphasis on the procedures and steps of the Grid technique.
