Abstract

Menurut teori perkembangan anak, siswa kelas III SD yang berusia 8-9 tahun seharusnya aktif dalam belajar baik kelompok ataupun individu dalam belajar hal baru. Namun, berdasarkan observasi yang dilakukan oleh peneliti di SDK Ora Et Labora kelas III A, ditemukan bahwa beberapa siswa kurang aktif dalam bertanya, menyatakan pendapat, serta menjawab pertanyaan. Selain itu siswa yang pasif dalam pembelajaran memiliki hasil belajar dibawah rata-rata, sehingga berdasarkan hal tersebut peneliti menerapkan metode Number Head Together (NHT) dengan kelebihan metode ini dapat mengakomodir siswa dalam kelompok sehingga penelitian ini dapat mencapai tujuannya yaitu untuk melihat apakah metode NHT dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa kelas 3 SD Penelitian yang digunakan oleh peneliti ialah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Robert P.Pelton (2010) yang dilaksanakan pada 16 Juli-2 November 2018. Subjek penelitian yaitu siswa kelas III A dengan jumlah siswa 23 orang. Penerapan tindakan yang dilakukan sebanyak 2 kali penerapan yakni 10 Oktober 2018 dan 11 Oktober 2018. Adapun instrumen penelitian yang digunakan oleh peneliti ialah RPP (Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran), umpan balik mentor, jurnal refleksi, lembar checklist yang akan di analisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penerapan NHT dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa. Peningkatan keaktifan tersebut terlihat dengan adanya peningkatan pada setiap indikator. Pada penerapan 1 peningkatan indikator 1 sebesar 91%, indikator 2 sebesar 56%, indikator 3 sebesar 74% dan indikator 4 sebesar 96%. Pada penerapan 2 peningkatan indikator 1 sebesar 83%, indikator 2 96%, indikator 3 sebesar 87% dan indikator 4 sebesar 83%. Hal ini dipengaruhi oleh penerapan metode Numbered Heads Together dengan tahapan penomoran, pengajuan pertanyaan, diskusi bersama, serta tahapan menjawab./ Based on theory of children development, grade III students whom aged between 8-9 years old should be active in learning process either in group or individual work to learn new things. However, according to the observation done by the researcher at SDK Ora Et Labora grade IIIA, it found that some students were not active in asking, delivering opinion, and answering question. Besides that, the students who were passive in learning have low achievement, thus the researcher applied the method of Numbered Head Together (NHT) which can accomodate students in group work so this research can achieve its purpose to see whether NHT method can improve grade III students’ activeness in learning. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) modeled by Robert P. Pelton (2010) which was done on July 16 – November 2, 2018. The subject of this research was grade IIIA students with 23 students in total. The implementation was done in two times which were on October 10, 2018 and October 11, 2018. The instruments used by the researcher were lesson plan, mentor feedback, reflection journal, and checklist form which will be analyzed descriptively. The result shows that the implementation of NHT method can improve students’ activeness in learningg. The improvement can be seen on each indicator. In the first implementation, there was improvement in indicator 1 which is 91%, indicator 2 56%, indicator 3 87%, and indicator 4 83%. It is so because of the impact of the implementation of NHT method with the steps of numbering, asking questions, discussing together, and answering.
