Abstract

Berpikir kritis merupakan kemampuan yang harus dimiliki oleh setiap orang saat ini, terutama siswa sebagai generasi bangsa. Akan tetapi, berdasarkan hasil observasi siswa kelas VIII D ditemukan bahwa hasil sumatif dan retest siswa masih rendah terutama untuk soal yang memerlukan berpikir kritis. Metode Think Talk Write diterapkan sebagai upaya meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah PTK dengan model Pelton yang berlangsung dalam dua kali penerapan tindakan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di salah satu sekolah Kristen di Makassar pada 13 Agustus 2018 – 8 Maret 2019 dengan jumlah subjek penelitian 21 orang yakni 9 siswa laki-laki dan 12 siswa perempuan. Sumber data penelitian yang digunakan peneliti ialah lembar tes tertulis siswa, lembar observasi mentor dan rekan sejawat, umpan balik mentor, lembar kuesioner (angket) siswa, dan jurnal refleksi siswa dan peneliti. Data tersebut dianalisis secara kualitatif dan deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada penerapan tindakan I, persentase siswa yang mampu menguasai indikator BK-1 adalah 85,57%, indikator BK-2 adalah 58,17%, dan indikator BK-3 adalah 66,42%. Pada penerapan tindakan II, persentase siswa yang menguasai indikator BK-1 adalah 49,87%, indikator BK-2 adalah 67,85%, dan indikator BK-3 adalah 76,19%. Berdasarkan persentase hasil tes tersebut, maka secara keseluruhan dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan TTW dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VIII D di salah satu sekolah Kristen di Makassar./ Critical thinking is an ability that must be owned by everyone at this time, especially students as a generation of the nation. However, based on the observation results of class VIII D students, the researcher found the summative results and retest of students were still low, especially for questions that needed critical thinking. Think Talk Write (TTW) type learning model was applied as an effort to improve students' critical thinking skills. The research method used was CAR (classroom action research) with Pelton model with two Plan Activation. The study was conducted at one of Christian school in Makassar on August 13rd, 2018 - March 8th, 2019, with twenty-one students consisted of nine boy and twelve girl students as the research subjects. Sources of research data used by researchers were students' written test sheets, mentor and peer observation sheets, mentor feedback, student questionnaire sheets, and student and researcher reflection journals. The data was analyzed qualitatively and descriptively. The results showed that the result of implementation Plan Activation I, the percentage of students who were able to master the BK-1 indicator was 85.57%, the BK-2 indicator was 58.17%, and the BK-3 indicator was 66.42%. Meanwhile, the result of implementation Plan Activation II, the percentage of students who mastered the BK-1 indicator was 49.87%, the BK-2 indicator was 67.85%, and the BK-3 indicator was 76.19%. Based on the percentage of the results of the test, the researcher concluded that the implementation of the TTW can improve the critical thinking skills of class VIII D students in one of the Christian schools in Makassar.
