Abstract

Setiap siswa harus bertanggung jawab untuk mengembangkan kemampuan secara optimal dalam mencapai standar nilai yang ditetapkan sekolah yaitu Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum. Dengan demikian, guru juga memiliki tanggung jawab untuk memperhatikan hasil belajar kognitif siswa setelah melaksanakan pembelajaran di kelas. Peneliti menemukan bahwa siswa memiliki hasil belajar kognitif yang rendah dikarenakan sebagian besar siswa kurang mampu mengerjakan soal perhitungan dalam topik termokimia secara mandiri. Metode yang dipilih peneliti untuk mengatasi masalah ini yakni menerapkan model pembelajaran Student Fasilitator and Explaining (SFaE) dimana dengan menekankan pola interaksi antar siswa dalam pembelajaran sehingga setiap siswa dapat saling membantu temannya untuk mencapai kompetensi standar nilai yang diinginkan. Model penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Pelton yang dilaksanakan dalam satu kali tahapan penelitian. Penelitian dilaksanakan di salah satu sekolah Kristen di Kota Kupang dengan subjek penelitian yakni seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA yang berjumlah 16 orang. Adapun topik pembelajaran yakni termokimia dengan sub topik kalorimeter, Hukum Hess, dan energi ikatan. Peneliti menggunakan instrumen berupa lembar observasi, wawancara siswa, lembar tes, dan jurnal refleksi. Berdasarkan penelitian, penerapan model pembelajaran SFaE ternyata mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa dari 37,5% menjadi 87,5%/ Every student have to be responsible in developing abilities optimally in order to achieve the standard values set by the school, which is the passing grade. Thus, the teacher also has the responsibility to pay attention to the students' cognitive achievement after conducting the teaching and learning process. The researcher found that students had low cognitive achievement because most of the students could not do the calculation on termochemistry individually. The method chosen by the researcher to overcome this problem is Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFaE) learning model which emphasizing the interaction of each student in the learning process, so that each student can help each other in achieving the standard competency expected. The research model used is Class Action Research method introduced by Pelton which is conducted in one activation. The research was conducted at one of the Christian schools in Kota Kupang involving all the 16 students of class XI IPA. The instruments used by the researcher are observation sheet, student interview, test sheet, and reflection journal. Based on this research, the application of the SFaE learning model could improve students' cognitive achievement from 37.5% to 87.5%.
