Abstract

Pada pelajaran Matematika, siswa diharapkan tidak hanya menghapal rumus melainkan dapat memahami konsep sehingga dapat menggunakannya dalam pemecahan masalah. Pada tahap identifikasi masalah, ditemukan siswa memiliki pemahaman konsep matematis yang rendah. Peneliti memberikan solusi untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran Student Facilitator and Explaining sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) menurut model Pelton. Penelitian dilakukan pada 17 siswa kelas X IPS di SLH Gunung Agung pada tanggal 6 Agustus hingga 22 Oktober 2018. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu rancangan pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP), umpan balik mentor, lembar observasi ceklis mentor, jurnal refleksi guru, jurnal refleksi siswa dan hasil tes siswa. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Hal ini terlihat dari rata-rata persentase indikator pemahaman konsep matematis, pada penerapan tindakan tercapai 69% dengan kategori “baik”, pada pengulangan I tercapai 69% dengan kategori “baik”, pada pengulangan II tercapai 72% dengan kategori “baik”, kemudian pada pengulangan III tercapai 79% dengan kategori “baik sekali”. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Student Facilitator and Explaining dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Langkah-langkah penerapan model pembelajaran Student Facilitator and Explaining yaitu guru menyajikan materi kepada siswa, guru menetapkan siswa yang unggul sebagai fasilitator, guru memberikan kesempatan kepada fasilitator untuk menjelaskan kepada siswa lain mengenai hal-hal yang belum dipahami, guru melakukan verifikasi dengan memberikan soal post-test di akhir pembelajaran dan memberikan lembar refleksi kepada siswa./ In the learning Mathematics, students needed conceptual understanding rather than memorizing, this is to make students use concept Mathematical to use in problem sloving. Stage of issue identification get that students’ Mathematics conceptual understanding still was low. The researcher then decided to implement learning model known as Student Facilitator and Explaining as an attempt to improve students’ Mathematic conceptual understanding. The researcher used Classroom Action Research by Pelton model. The reserch was conducted on 17 students of Grade X Social Class in SLH Gunung Agung from August 6th until October 22th 2018. Instruments that used in this research which are teacher planning, feedback mentor, checklist mentor, reflection journal and students post-test. The result showed that increased students’ Mathematics conceptual understanding. It looks from average in persentage of students’ Mathematics conceptual understanding, in a application of action was 69% with category “good”, first repetition of application was 69% with category “good”, second repetition of application was 72% with category “good”, and third repetition of application was 79% with category “very good”. The reasercher then concluded that the implementation of Student Facilitator and Explaining’ learning model is able to improve students’ Mathematics conceptual understanding. The steps of implementation of Student Facilitator and Explaining, teachers presents the material to students, teacher determines the students are superior in academic as facilitators, teachers gives opportuity to the facilitator to explain to other students about things are not understood, teachers verifies by giving the post-test at the end of the lesson and provide reflection sheets to students.
