Abstract

There is no doubt that museums are increasingly becoming a top priority for visits by the public, especially in the current era of globalization. Furthermore, Indonesian people have thoughts based on negative impressions of museums, namely that they seem boring, there are no benefits for them, there are many more interesting places, and there is a lack of early introduction. Moreover, that was founded the museum building has been around for a long time with a long history of building so that public has the view that the collection is damaged, ancient, and the building is like a warehouse and so on. Based on this, the author's awareness was motivated to design one of museum project to be precise, the Museum of Fine Arts and Ceramics, a building that stores several high values works of art, ceramics, pottery, and art sculptures with an interesting historical story which previously functioned as a Dutch decoration office by Governor General Jan Pieter Mijer in 1870. Responding to these problems, research is needed on interior conditions and collection arrangements to be adjusted and redesigned at different site locations with new faces and branches. Being in a different location will bring up a new concept as one of the solutions to problem solving, namely by adjusting to the conditions of development in modern times while still paying attention to the beauty side of the richness archipelago's collections. Primary data collection was carried out, in the form of observation, direct interviews, site visits, and becoming participant observers. Second, in the form of written and scientific sources, records, and documentation. Using a narrative approach supported by the multisensory presence from both facilities and activities to provide visitor understanding and create visitor interpretation experiences. Through these stages, the author hopes that this design can be a means of conservation preservation of historical relics as an educational facility that are presented more attractively for the public to enjoy.
