Abstract

Latar Belakang: Sarapan merupakan kegiatan makan dan minum yang biasanya dilakukan setelah bangun tidur sampai jam 9 pagi dan dapat memenuhi 20-25% kebutuhan gizi harian. Melewati sarapan tanpa pengawasan dapat mempengaruhi fungsi ovarium dan uterus perempuan. Dismenore merupakan salah satu penyakit yang dapat menurunkan produktivitas dan kualitas hidup pada perempuan. Berdasarkan penelitian sebelumnya, ditemukan kejadian dismenore yang tinggi pada mahasiswi yang tidak sarapan. Saat ini belum banyak data mengenai hubungan antara kebiasaan sarapan dengan dismenore pada mahasiswi di Indonesia sehingga peneliti mempunyai keinginan untuk meneliti topik tersebut. / Background: Breakfast is an activity of eating and drinking which is usually done after waking up until 9 in the morning and it can meet 20-25% of daily nutritional needs. Unsupervised skipping breakfast can lead to ovary and uterus dysfunction on woman. Dysmenorrhea is one of disease that can reduce productivity and quality of life in women. Based on previous research, a high incidence of dysmenorrhea was found in female students who did not have breakfast. Currently there isn’t much data regarding the association between breakfast and dysmenorrhea in female students in Indonesia, which interest the researcher to research this topic. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kebiasaan sarapan dengan dismenore pada mahasiswi Fakultas Kedokteran di Universitas Pelita Harapan. / Aim: The aim of this study is to discover the association between breakfast and dysmenorrhea in female college students of Faculty of Medicine at Pelita Harapan University. Metodologi: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi analitik komparatif kategorik dengan metode potong lintang. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan WaLIDD score untuk kejadian dismenore, IPAQ-SF dan PSS-10 digunakan untuk mengkontrol variabel perancu. Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada 60 mahasiswi Fakultas Kedokteran di Universitas Pelita Harapan dan dianalisis menggunakan SPSS 23. / Methodology: this study is an unpaired analytical comparative categoric design study with a cross-sectional method. Data was collected from 60 female college students of Faculty of Medicine at Pelita Harapan University using breakfast questionnaire and WaLLID score for dysmenorrhea, IPAQ-SF and PSS-10 were used to control the confounding variables. Then, data was analyzed using SPSS 23. Hasil: Dari 60 sampel yang telah terkumpul, didapatkan mayoritas mahasiswi yang tidak memiliki kebiasaan sarapan sebesar 55%. Terdapat 76,7% mahasiswi yang menderita dismenore, 91,7% memiliki tingkat stres sedang dan berat, 85% memiki aktivitas fisik tinggi, serta terdapat 70% mahasiswi yang memiliki status gizi normal. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai p > 0,05 untuk hubungan antara kebiasaan sarapan dengan dismenore. / Result: Among 60 samples that were collected, it was found that the majority of female college students did not have a breakfast habit by 55%. There are 76.7% of female college students who suffer from dysmenorrhea, 91.7% have moderate and severe stress levels, 85% have high physical activity, and there are 70% of female college students who have normal nutritional status. The results of the analysis showed that the p value was > 0.05 for the association between breakfast habits and dysmenorrhea. Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kebiasaan sarapan dengan dismenore. / Conclusion: There is no significant association between breakfast habits and dysmenorrhea.
