Abstract

Keterampilan sosial bukan hanya berbicara mengenai kemampuan siswa dalam berinteraksi. Keterampilan sosial mencakup bagaimana siswa dapat menjalin hubungan yang baik dengan sesamanya, memanajemen diri sendiri, dan juga menunujukkan kemampuan akademik yang baik. Keadaan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan sosial yang dimiliki siswa masih perlu ditingkatkan karena terindikasi siswa kesulitan untuk bekerja sama bahkan cenderung saling menyalahkan satu sama lain, hal ini disebabkan oleh kecenderungan sikap individualis dalam diri siswa yang cukup tinggi. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut peneliti menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif metode Number Heads Together (NHT) dengan tujuan meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan Taggart yang diadakan sebanyak dua siklus dalam dua pertemuan untuk masing-masing siklus. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah, lembar angket siswa, dokumen, lembar wawancara guru, dan jurnal refleksi peneliti. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif metode NHT memberikan pengaruh berupa peningkatan pada keterampilan sosial siswa. Maka dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif metode NHT dapat meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa./ Social skill is not just talking about students’ ability to interact. Social skill also involve how the students can build a good relation with their peers, self�management, and also able to show good academic skill. The condition in classroom showed that the students’ social skills had needed to be improved because it was indicated from their difficulties to work together and even blamed one another, and this thing was the result of their high individualistic attitude. To overcome this problem, the researcher implemented cooperative learning model with NHT method with hope that it could improve students’ social skills. This research was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) Kemmis and Taggart’s model and was done in two cycle with two meetings in each cycles. The research used students’ questionnaire, document, teacher’s interview form, and researcher’s reflection journal. Based on the result of the research, the implementation of cooperative learning model with NHT method gave influence in the improving of students’ social skill. So it could be concluded that the implementation of cooperative learning method with NHT method could improve students’ social skill.
