Abstract

Pendidikan Kristen mengharuskan guru menjadi pembawa pertumbuhan dan teladan di kelas yang mampu menyentuh ranah sikap toleransi siswa. Salah satu cara yang dapat digunakan adalah menerapkan metode pembelajaran. Metode ceramah interaktif mengandalkan penjelasan guru yang divariasikan dengan tanya jawab dan diskusi sehingga terjadi proses pembelajaran dua arah antara guru dan siswa. Metode ceramah interaktif terbukti mampu menumbuhkan sikap toleransi siswa, khususnya dalam ranah menghargai perbedaan dan mengapresiasi pendapat orang lain. Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang telah dilakukan, terdapat kesenjangan antara harapan dan fakta yang terjadi di dalam kelas. Siswa kurang mampu menunjukkan sikap toleransi. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini untuk menjelaskan upaya meningkatkan sikap toleransi siswa SMP Kelas VIII melalui penerapan metode ceramah interaktif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan lima fokus kajian. Penerapan metode ceramah interaktif sebagai solusi didasari oleh filsafat aksiologis yang menganggap toleransi suatu hal yang sangat penting dengan mengedepankan nilai kasih dan perdamaian sesuai dengan ajaran Kristus. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa metode ceramah interaktif mampu meningkatkan sikap toleransi siswa didukung instrumen RPP dan perkembangan siswa yang tercatat dalam refleksi mengajar. Penulis menyarankan untuk menerapkan metode pembelajaran, seperti studi kasus dalam meningkatkan sikap toleransi siswa. Kata Kunci: Aksiologi, Ceramah interaktif, Peran guru, Pendidikan Kristen,Toleransi / Christian education requires teachers to be carriers of growth and role models in the classroom who can touch the realm of students' tolerance attitudes. Beyond transferring knowledge, teachers should work to nurture students’ tolerance attitude. One way to achieve this goal is applying learning methods. The interactive lecturer method relies on teacher’s explanation which are varied with question and answer and discussion activities, so it goes as two-way learning process. The interactive lecturer method has been confirmed able to increase the tolerance attitude of students especially in respecting differences and appreciating other’s opinion. Based on the observation result, there are gaps between the goals and facts that happened in the classroom. Students are unable to show a tolerance attitude. The purpose of this research is to explain the efforts to improve the tolerance attitude of Class VIII junior high school students through the application of interactive lecture methods. The application of the interactive lecture method as a solution is based on axiological philosophy which considers tolerance to be very important by prioritizing the values of love and peace in accordance with the teachings of Christ. The result of this research is that the interactive lecturer method is able to increase the tolerance attitude of students supported by the lesson plan and the students’ development that is recorded in the teaching journal. The author suggests applying learning methods such as case studies to increase student’s tolerance. Keywords: Axiology, Interactive lecturer, Teacher’s role, Christian education, Tolerance.
