Abstract

Sebagian besar proses pendidikan sangat bergantung pada kemampuan dan kesadaran literasi yang dimiliki siswa. Literasi bukan hanya sekadar kegiatan membaca dan menulis karena siswa mampu mengolah, mengurai, dan memahami informasi melalui kemampuan literasi. Literasi dalam diri siswa tidak dapat tumbuh apabila guru tidak berperan sebagai fasilitator yang memfasilitasi kegiatan literasi siswa. Tujuan penulisan tugas akhir ini untuk menjelaskan peran guru Kristen sebagai fasilitator dalam menumbuhkan literasi siswa yang berfokus kepada literasi membaca dan menulis. Metode penulisan yang digunakan adalah kajian literatur. Kristus merupakan teladan bagi guru Kristen dalam menjalankan peran sebagai fasilitator agar melalui literasi siswa dapat menemukan pemahaman yang benar sesuai dengan kebenaran Firman Tuhan. Pendidikan Kristen harus berlandaskan Firman Tuhan karena perkataan Allah memberikan prinsip dan nilai awal bagi pendidikan dalam membentuk siswa menjadi murid Kristus. Sebagai fasilitator, guru tidak hanya memfasilitasi siswa dalam mengajar di dalam kelas tetapi juga memfasilitasi siswa dalam kegiatan literasi guna menumbuhkan literasi dalam dirinya. Penulis menyarankan kepada pelaku pendidikan agar dapat membuat program literasi, seperti membuat pojok literasi, membuat majalah dinding, membaca setiap pagi, dsb. Peran guru di dalam kelas tidak cukup untuk menumbuhkan literasi setiap siswa apabila orang tua siswa dan sekolah tidak dapat bekerja sama dengan guru / Most educational processes depend heavily on students' literacy abilities and awareness. Literacy is not just reading and writing activities because students are able to process, decompose and understand information through literacy skills. Literacy in students cannot grow if the teacher does not act as a facilitator who facilitates students' literacy activities. The purpose of writing this paper is to explain the role of Christian teachers as facilitators in growing student literacy which focuses on reading and writing literacy. The writing method used is literature review. Christ is an example for Christian teachers in carrying out their role as facilitators so that through literacy students can find correct understanding according to the truth of God's Word. Christian education must be based on God's Word because God's words provide the initial principles and values for education in forming students into disciples of Christ. As a facilitator, teachers not only facilitate students in teaching in the classroom but also facilitate students in literacy activities in order to foster literacy in themselves. The author suggests that education practitioners can create literacy programs, such as creating a literacy corner, making wall magazines, reading every morning, etc. The role of the teacher in the classroom is not enough to foster the literacy of each student if the student's parents and school cannot work together with the teacher.
