Abstract

Belajar adalah proses aktif dari pembelajar itu sendiri. Berdasarkan pengamatan yang dilakukan di kelas XI MIPA pada salah satu sekolah Kristen di Yogyakarta, peneliti menemukan bahwa siswa kurang aktif dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Oleh sebab itu, peneliti memutuskan untuk menggunakan metode TPS sebagai solusi dari permasalahan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa kelas XI MIPA melalui penerapan metode TPS, serta peneliti ingin mengetahui cara penerapan metode TPS dalam meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa kelas XI MIPA. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model spiral dari Kemmis dan McTaggart. Penelitian ini dilakukan sejak tanggal 17 sampai 31 Oktober 2015 pada 22 siswa.Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua siklus. Peneliti menggunakan instrumen pengumpulan data berupa lembar obsevasi guru mentor dan angket siswa yang akan dianalisis dengan menggunakan perhitungan matematika sederhana, serta jurnal refleksi dan wawancara guru mentor dan siswa yang akan dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa penerapan metode TPS, yang terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu menjelaskan prosedur, tahap think, tahap pair dan tahap share telah meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa selama pembelajaran. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh tercapainya seluruh indikator keaktifan belajar, yakni siswa bertanya kepada guru atau siswa lain apabila mengalami kesulitan selama pembelajaran berlangsung, siswa memecahkan soal yang diberikan oleh guru, siswa melaksanakan diskusi dengan pasangannya sesuai dengan petunjuk guru dan siswa mengemukakan pendapat kepada pasangan lain. / Learning is an active process that is come from the learner itself. According to the research that has been done in class of XI MIPA, one of the Christian schools in Yogyakarta, the researcher found that students in that school are not active in thelearning process. Therefore, the researcher decided to use TPS method as a solution for that problem. The purpose of this research is to increase the activeness of learning in class of XI MIPA with the TPS method, and also the researcher wants to know how the TPS method works in improving the activeness of the students.The methodology research that used in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR) spiral model from Kemmis and McTaggart. The study was conducted from 17 to 31 October 2015 for 22 students. The study consisted of two cycles. Researchers used data collection instrument in a form of sheet from mentor teacher observation and student questionnaire that will be analyzed using simple mathematical calculations, and as well as the number of interviews and reflection from mentor teachers and students who will be analyzed descriptively qualitative. The research results show that implementation of TPS method which consists of four stages, first is explaining the procedures, second stage is think, third stage is pair, and the fourth stage is share has increased students learning activeness during learning process. This is showed by the accomplish of all indicators activity of learning, which is student asks teacher or the other students when they have difficulties during the learning process, students also can solve the problem given by the teacher, students can do their discussion with their partner according to the instructions from the teacher and student can express their opinion to the their partner.
