Abstract

The building of this application is aimed at providing an alternative way for learning piano particularly for those who are much interested in this activity but just too busy to take a piano course. There are 35 questionnaires distributed to respondents within age 15 – 30 years. These questionnaires are used to gain some informations needed in developing the application, such as what kind of information are supposed to be included in the application. Based on the evaluation of those questionnaires the application are designed to be useful and would operates easily. This interactive application is a new way of learning a piano lesson, not merely the theory but there also some partitures that user could listen to included in this application. With a support of a multimedia technology, this application would visualized the right way of playing a piano. By using this users could have their own piano course at home. The application would lead them step by step, and users could even choose the menu and material that they wanted to know. There also some video tapes and still images exist that might help the users to understand piano lesson better. Finally, this application is not built to replace an existing piano course but purposed only to give a new way of learning a piano lesson by using a modern technology.
