Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of metacognitive awareness, critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills in Mathematics lesson for fifth grade elementary school students. The purpose of this research was to analyze the application of Problem Based Learning Model in improving metacognitive awareness, critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills in Mathematic lesson of fifth grade elementary school students. The type of this research is a classroom action research study consist of three cycle of learning include planning, action, observation and reflection. The subject of this research are 19 students in one class. The instrument used to measure metacognitive awareness is a questionnaire, and rubric to measure the critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills. The result shown an increasing of the average score for metacognitive awareness, critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills. For the metacognitive awareness, the average score of the first cycle is 66,3 and became 77,5 in the second cycle then increase in third cycle became 79,4. For the critical thinking skills, the average score of first cycle is 65,8, and for the second cycle it becomes 76,8 and the third cycle it becomes 80,3. For the creative thinking skills, the average score of first cycle is 64,1, and for the second cycle it becomes 73 and the third cycle it becomes 79,6. It can be conclude that the Problem Based Learning model can improve the metacognitive awareness, critical thinking skills, and creative thinking skills in Mathematics lesson for 5 th grade elementary school students in Jakarta./Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya nilai kesadaran metakognitif, keterampilan berpikir kritis, dan keterampilan berpikir kreatif pada mata pelajaran Matematika siswa kelas IV SD. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dalam upaya meningkatkan kesadaran metakognitif. Keterampilan berpikir kritis, dan keterampilan berpikir kreatif pada mata pelajaran Matematika siswa kelas IV SD. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari tiga siklus pembelajaran dengan tahapan perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 19 siswa dalam satu kelas. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuisioner untuk mengukur kesadaran metakognitif dan rubrik penilaian untuk mengukur keterampilan berpikir kritis dan keterampilan berpikir kreatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rata-rata nilai kesadaran metakognitif pada siklus satu yaitu 66,3 meningkat pada siklus dua menjadi 77,5 dan pada siklus ketiga mengalami peningkatan menjadi 79,4. Peningkatan rata-rata nilai keterampilan berpikir kritis pada siklus satu yaitu 65,8, pada siklus dua yaitu 76,8, dan pada siklus tiga menjadi 80,3. Peningkatan rata-rata nilai keterampilan berpikir kreatif pada siklus satu yaitu 64,1, pada siklus dua yaitu 73, dan pada siklus tiga menjadi 79,6. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan kesadaran metakognitif, keterampilan berpikir kritis, dan keterampilan berpikir kreatif pada mata pelajaran Matematika siswa kelas IV SD di Jakarta.
